Tragedy as body of missing woman, 58, pulled from river near golf club

POLICE searching for a missing woman have pulled a body from a river near a golf club.

The woman, named only as Jane, had been missing since Halloween when she was last seen walking through the grounds of Castelfield Golf Club in Rastrick, West Yorkshire.

Cops had serious concerns for her welfare and launched a frantic operation to locate her.

Tragically, yesterday evening they discovered a body while looking for missing Jane.

Emergency services rushed to the scene close to Castlefields Golf Club and recovered a body body from the water.

Jane’s family have been informed of the tragic discovery.

Detectives said the death is not being treated as suspicious, adding that enquiries are ongoing.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “At about 10pm yesterday (Tuesday), officers searching for missing woman Jane found the body of a woman in water, close to Castlefields Golf Club in Rastrick.

“Emergency services attended the location and the body was recovered.

“Jane’s family have been informed.

“Enquiries are continuing into the matter, but the death is not being treated as suspicious.”
