A HORROR traffic collision has brought a major UK motorway to a standstill as cops urge drivers to avoid the area.
National Highways has warned drivers that the the M62 is closed eastbound between junction 34 for Selby and junction 35 for the M18.
Police were scrambled to the scene early this morning after being alerted to the horror smash.
Cops remain in the are aand are working to deal with the “ongoing incident.”
Diversion routes have been put in place and drivers are warned to expect delays.
Motorists have been asked to avoid the area as cops work to deal with the chaotic scene.
Humberside Police said: “Please be aware that the eastbound carriageway of M62 near to J35 is closed whilst police deal with an ongoing incident.
“Please avoid the area. Thank you.”
National Highways said the incident, which is understood to have happened on an eastbound entry slip road, is expected to clear in the coming hours.
