Angela Scanlon was issued a toe-curling put-down by show guest William Hanson as the presenters discussed etiquette rules over the Christmas period.
Hosts Dermot O’Leary, 52, and co-star Angela, 41, who made her debut on the ITV series on Friday morning, were joined by William, 36, to talk all things Yuletide.
After going through the rules at the Christmas table, from how to lay out plates, to serving gravy and wipe away mess with napkins, talk soon turned to decorations.
Sharing a series of photos sent in by viewers, Dermot, Angela and William went on to give their verdicts on the different design decisions made by fans.
However, William didn’t hold back on one of the photos, and dished out a series of insults about the choices made by the mystery homeowner.
Even when it was revealed that the photo was taken by Angela herself in her own home, that didn’t change the etiquette experts’ tune at all.

Dermot introduced the image, which showcased a Christmas tree with a draping red bow: ‘Ange says, do you like my bow-eautiful tree topper?’
Angela could be seen gushing over the decorations: ‘Oh wow, look at that,’ to which Dermot then chimed in: ‘That’s absolutely gorgeous!’
But William soon interjected: ‘I don’t want to mince my words, but that is absolutely horrific. It’s horrific. It looks like you’ve just chucked some fabric on the top.’
‘It’s a bow,’ Angela insisted, to which William hit out again: ‘It’s a cry for help. I like the warm white lights, I like the candles, but I’m trying to find a positive… Are you now going to tell me this might be your tree?’
Angela then revealed: ‘That’s my tree, and I’m so proud of it… that’s called, lametta tinsel or something,’ but William continued: ‘Terrible? It’s not how I’d decorate my tree, but you do you.’
When another photo flashed up, showing bright multicoloured Christmas lights, Angela voiced her support: ‘Children love them! My two little girls are obsessed with the coloured lights.’
But William hit back against her again: ‘That is far too much. Children like picking their noses but that doesn’t mean to say that it’s correct, does it?’
In another photo, a couple had got in touch to show their ‘simple’ Christmas tree, which had not been decorated at all, and were asking for William’s verdict.
Dermot and Angela asked William to rate photos sent in by the audience of their Christmas decor – but Angela had hidden her own photo among them
The presenter was left in shock as William issued a savage put-down of her tree
‘I mean, they haven’t even bothered, if I’m completely honest,’ the etiquette expert hit out, Dermot and Angela were stifling their laughs as William continued to comment on another picture: ‘That one looks like it’s covered in lavatory paper…’
Fans at home noticed the tension growing between the pair, with one taking to X, formerly Twitter, to write: ‘Think he’s pissed off with these two, totally taking the piss at his rules.’
Others chipped in to agree, with one penning: ‘William is talking sense! Keep it simple,’ as another added: ‘William slagging off decorations is giving me joy.’
‘He’s right, it is horrific,’ another said, while someone else praised Angela’s responses, saying: ‘I’m liking Angela, she has a mischievous personality.’
It comes after This Morning welcomed a brand new face, Angela, to its hosting panel today – and she left fans open-mouthed in the process with a VERY rude introduction.
Dermot has been joined by a variety of different faces on the ITV daytime show this week, after Emma Willis was forced to pull out of co-hosting the series due to a last minute illness.
On Monday, Dermot co-presented the series with familiar show face Josie Gibson, 40, while during the week he was joined by Lorraine star Christine Lampard, 46.
But on Friday’s show, he was joined for the very first time, making her debut on the series, by Your Home Made Perfect star Angela.

She was introduced by Dermot at the opening of the show, with the two sharing a friendly hug, laughing and joking about her ITV debut.
But the TV presenter left viewers at home in shock as she made a cheeky jibe about ‘popping her cherry’ just minutes into the latest instalment.
Dermot began: ‘Ladies and gentlemen, may I present… Angela Scanlon!’
To which Angela replied: ‘This is wild, it’s also so festive, I feel like this is the welcome that everyone should get, and I’m so happy to be popping my This Morning cherry with you, Dermot.’
As laughs could be heard from the crew off screen, the pair shook hands and Dermot said: ‘We’re old friends,’ to which Angela continued: ‘We’re old pals!’
‘Just the This Morning cherry, everyone, that’s all, keep that to yourselves,’ he joked.
Viewers took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to laugh about the cheeky euphemism.
One asked: ‘Did she say popping her cherry with Dermot?’ as another reacted, with a nervous emoji: ‘Call me old fashioned!’
Noting how fellow show star Gyles Brandreth appeared to raise an eyebrow at Angela’s choice of words, a third said: ‘I don’t think Giles was a fan of her phrase “popping cherry”…’
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
