Three people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead near a canal path in west London

The body was discovered late on Tuesday evening at an address on Horsenden Lane North, in the Greenford area of Ealing.

The Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service attended the scene following a concern for welfare report.

Two men, aged 43 and 36, and a 39-year-old woman were arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and they remain in police custody this evening.

The force said the death is being treated as ‘unexpected and enquiries are ongoing’.

A large police presence remains in the area, with reports of a forensic tent nearby.    

In a statement the Metropolitan Police said: ‘At around 23.15pm on Tuesday, 16 December police were called to reports of a concern for welfare at an address in Horsenden Lane North, Greenford.

‘Officers, along with the London Ambulance Service, attended and sadly discovered the body of a man. He was pronounced dead.
