BRITS flocking to Benidorm to watch the Cheltenham Festival in the sun face being battered by storms.
Thousands are flying over to watch the racing this week — saving hundreds on ticket prices and accommodation.


But it is feared up to 12mm of rain — a quarter of the Spanish resort’s monthly average — will sweep through on tomorrow’s opening day.
There is also at least a 25 per cent chance of rain on Wednesday and Thursday.
Brit Station is among bars showing races on the Calle Gerona.
Bartender Petina Petrova, 35, said: “We’re still open for business.
“It’s still Costa del Cheltenham time.
“Normally, we have hundreds turn up and that is not going to change.
“Last year we had 1,500 people.”
Meanwhile, Cheltenham organisers have moved the final hurdles on the Old and New courses — creating a longer run-in.
It is said to have been done for safety due to the wet turf after heavy recent rain.
Racing influencer Stephen Power said: “This is going to have a huge impact on how some races play out.”
