HOW many murders will it take until Western leaders realise that there is cancer in our country that they have given free rein to?
There have been murders of Jews from Washington to Manchester and now in Bondi Beach.
This is what happens if you allow extremism to run rife, and incitement is ignored.
By allowing pro-terrorist speech to dominate our streets for two years, they have given the green light to terrorist activities.
If the lesson we were meant to learn from the Holocaust was “hateful speech can lead to murder”, why have our leaders so carelessly ignored it?
Every year, they put out their social posts saying “never again”.
But never again is now.
Both our Prime Minister and the Australian one, Anthony Albanese, have been so weak on fighting terror that they even decided to unilaterally recognise a Palestinian state as a reward for the October 7 massacre.
They rewarded terrorism.
From London to Sydney, people have dressed up as terrorists, covered their faces with keffiyahs and cried to “globalise the intifada”.
The Second Intifada killed more than 1000 Jews, mostly civilians, in terrorist attacks and suicide bombings.
Now we see again and again what “globalise the intifada” means. Dead Jews.
Our leaders indulged terrorist speech so they should not be surprised by terrorist activity.
It certainly doesn’t surprise the Jewish community.
After the attack on the Manchester synagogue on another Jewish holiday, Yom Kippur, which left two dead, British-born Australian rabbi Eli Schlanger wrote: “Terrorism must never be excused, rewarded or negotiated with.
“To Anthony Albanese, I say this with urgency – stop fuelling terrorism by legitimising those who spread hate.
“Listen to the voices of those who understand it first-hand.”
Rabbi Schlanger, a father of five, was killed on Bondi Beach on Sunday, leading the party for children which had music, games and facepainting.
Sadly, he wasn’t listened to.
These Western leaders have Jewish blood on their hands and all their thoughts and prayers won’t make it better.
We need concrete action and we need it now. Because this won’t end
with the Jews.
Antisemitism is often called the “canary in the coalmine”.
Historically, a canary would be used by miners to test if there was a poison in the atmosphere.
Well, the canary is dead: that’s why from Christmas markets to the House of Commons we now have bollards and police vans.
Yet still we allow hate preachers in our mosques, anti-Western rhetoric to dominate our universities.
And while many countries have banned the Muslim Brotherhood because of their links to terrorism, in the UK they are allowed – astonishingly – to collect money.
Our leaders have been wilfully blind to the undercurrents in our midst.
What will it take for them to open their eyes?
