The Morning Poll: Have Easter eggs become too expensive?

The average amount paid for an Easter egg in 2026 stands at £3.37, up 9 per cent since last year, according to data from Worldpanel by Numerator. 

Retailers and manufacturers say chocolate prices are rising quickly due to a severe global cocoa shortage caused by poor harvests along with increased costs for energy and transportation.
