Jeremy Clarkson‘s glamorous new farmhand Harriet Cowan’s boyfriend is a fellow farmer she met at a Young Farmers’ meeting, MailOnline can reveal.
Harriet, 24, and James Booth have been dating for ‘some time’, according to the Clarkson’s Farm star’s stepsister Elina Clifford.
But Harriet has been keen to keep their relationship out of the spotlight since finding fame.
James lives with his father Peter Booth, a well-known and respected farmer in the community, and his mum Andrea, in a secluded home in Nether Heage, situated between Belper and Ripley – just four miles from Harriet’s house in Crich, Derbyshire.
Earlier this month, MailOnline revealed nurse and part-time farmer Harriet has a fractious relationship with her family, namely stepsisters Elina and Maddie – her father Eddy Cowan’s children with Harriet’s stepmother, Vicky.
And despite the pair not seeing eye-to-eye with Harriet, they have given her boyfriend James a glowing endorsement.
Speaking to MailOnline, Elina said: ‘I’ve met James a few times, he’s alright, he’s lovely but not sure what he is doing with Harriet.’

Harriet, who starred in the opening episodes of Clarkson’s Farm stepping in for farm manager Kaleb Cooper, 26, has given her social media followers a glimpse of her relationship with James.
He featured in a TikTok video she posted in September which saw him spin her around alongside a caption which read ‘good job he didn’t drop me in cow s***’ and ‘#mylove’.
Another video, posted in March, showed James driving a tractor and delivering her bales of hay alongside the caption: ‘Your boyfriend brings you presents to unwrap. Mine brings me bales to unwrap. We’re not the same’.
And in April this year, she posted a video of the pair dancing in each other’s arms with the caption: ‘The ‘butterfly effect’ is crazy because if I didn’t join young farmers we’d never of [sic] met.’
On her Instagram account, Harriet posted snaps of the couple together on New Year’s Day in 2021, on a ‘date night’ in July the same year and the pair lambing together in April 2024.
And last summer, she documented the pair’s trip to Liverpool which Harriet captioned ‘a few days with the Beatles’.
Harriet’s brief stint on the current series of Clarkson’s Farm went down well with fans of the show, who were hoping to see her return to Diddly Squat.
However, despite Clarkson saying she ‘saved my life’ after helping him out on the farm in Kaleb’s absence, MailOnline revealed there are ‘no plans’ to bring her back for series five – and she does not feature in any of the remaining episodes of the current series which have yet to be made available to stream.

A TV source explained: ‘Harriet only came on the show to help Jeremy while Kaleb was on tour.
‘She finished filming as soon as he arrived back, leaving Kaleb to the job.
‘Jeremy was so grateful for Harriet’s hard work and expertise, he will definitely call upon her services in the future whenever he needs an extra pair of hands, but at this stage there are no future plans for her to film Clarkson’s Farm.’
During their sad goodbye, where the two shared a warm embrace, Clarkson told Harriet: ‘So, this is it, you’re off back to Derbyshire?
‘Well, listen you have been an absolute star, thanks ever so much for everything, you have been absolutely brilliant and best of luck.
‘You saved my life, you did, you were brilliant. So listen if we get stuck again can I give you a call – let me rephrase that – when we get stuck again.’
Praising Harriet’s role in highlighting loneliness among the farming community, he added: ‘It was a surprise to me. I think a lot of people, certainly of my generation, look at kids on TikTok and think, ‘What is the point of this meaningless existence they’re all having?‘
‘But then she explained that it was a way she can connect with other people when she’s doing something, because it is lonely. It suddenly made sense.

‘Even though she’s only a kid, she knows people who have killed themselves. I thought it was a poignant moment. The problem with these young farmers is they have no money.
‘Their friends go to the pub at night and they can’t afford to go, and their friends go on holiday, but they can’t afford to go.’
Turning his attention to a possible return to the farm for Cowan, Clarkson told The Sun: ‘It’s a reality show. We don’t just bring characters in because the TV show needs it. You bring them in because you really need them.’
Concluding with a sweet tribute to the farmhand, he added: ‘I loved Harriet to bits and I wish her all the very best. She was fantastic to have around. But the truth is, we’ve got Kaleb, and he might go off and do Celebrity Love Island or something, and if I can’t manage, I’ll call Harriet in a heartbeat.’
