Beege wrote an excellent piece earlier today about the vicious murder of two employees of the Israeli Embassy.
Elias Rodriguez, the social justice “activist” whose many, many, many “causes” include promoting antisemitic Palestinian terrorism, Black Lives Matter, and, inevitably, Socialism.
In his mind, they are all of a piece. For that matter, in the minds of most Leftists, they are all of a piece because the big issue is destroying the West, and the means to do so is terror.
It is always thus. Leftism is a modern phenomenon. Its very name comes from the seating arrangement at the National Assembly during the French Revolution, where the radicals sat on the left side of the aisle. As the Leftists lost patience with the democratic process, they resorted to violence and eventually to The Terror.

Violence and politics have always gone together, of course, but ideological terror is relatively modern. Bashing somebody over the head to seize wealth and power is just the law of the jungle–ugly and awful. Leftist terrorism adds the claim of morality, and morality justifies endless violence and demands totalitarianism. The subjugation not just of the body but of the soul.

Western liberalism, at its core, is anti-totalitarian, and hence is seen as the enemy of the Left. A world in which dissent is allowed–liberals and conservatives, Christians, Jews, Hindus, and Muslims, gays and straights all being able to live and work together–is anathema to the left. That’s what unites BLM, Socialism, Communism, Fascism, and “anti-colonialism:” an ineradicable need to destroy Western culture.
That’s how you get “Queers for Palestine.” Destroying Western Culture comes before all else, and, as the Leftists famously say, “By Any Means Necessary.”
Rodriguez’s day job was advocating for “Black Voices,” which seems to be a long way off from Palestinian activism. And, given his name–Rodriguez–you might imagine that Latino issues would be top of mind to him. But all these issues are the same, which is why they use the term “BIPOC.” As the Leftists keep saying, this is what “decolonization” means.

Ordinary political violence can be deterred because its goals are selfish–make it costly enough to commit, and it won’t be committed. Dying in the service of getting somebody’s stuff is not a glorious cause. Sure, you might take risks for potential rewards, but commit suicide or risk spending your life in jail? Naah.
But add in the “moral” component, as Leftism does, and you can become a secular saint. A “martyr” to the cause. An example to all.

Rodriguez is Luigi Mangione is BLM is, I suspect, Audrey Hale. Their “causes” seem disparate, but they are not. Which is why you see all these “causes” unite in protests.
