THE OODIE has made a big name for itself over the past few years.
That’s primarily because of its cosy loungewear, but it’s also down to its extremely generous Black Friday sale.
This year, it’s gone bigger than ever, with a £25k cash giveaway and up to 60% off sitewide.
However, we at Sun Shopping were slightly disappointed to hear a few weeks ago that the Aussie loungewear titan wasn’t planning on bringing back its sensational £1 Oodie giveaway, which has been known to cause chaos in previous years, even crashing the retailer’s website in 2023.

Happily, though, it has changed its mind, meaning we can expect the sale to land later this week.
The sale applies to the brand’s Grey Original Oodie, which usually retails for a pricey £65.
That means that, if you manage to get your mitts on one, you’ve secured a 98% saving on its full price.
Thankfully, if you don’t manage to get one at the £1 price, all is not lost — it’s on sale for just £26 as part of the wider Black Friday sale (although we’re not sure how the £1 giveaway will affect stock levels).
When does The Oodie’s £1 sale go live?
The Oodie has confirmed that its £1 sale will go live at 7 pm on Thursday, 20th November.
With so few available at the special price, expect them to sell out in a matter of seconds — if there are any still available at 7:02, we’d be very surprised.
That means that it pays to be on the website right on time.
How many Oodies are on sale?
In 2023, when The Oodie first ran its £1 giveaway, it made 1,500 Black Original Oodies available.
After the event’s runaway success, it upped the number to 4,000 last year.
This year, the company is offering the lowest number ever, with only 1,000 Grey Oodies up for grabs.
That’s likely because the brand is also running a massive £25,000 cash giveaway this Black Friday.
Each £1 spent on The Oodie’s website buys you one entry — so if you buy a £32 Original Oodie, you’ll be entered 32 times.

How do you maximise your chances of getting one?
With only 1,000 Oodies available, the chances of success in this year’s £1 sale are lower than ever.
However, there are a few things you can do to maximise your chances.
First of all, sign up for The Oodie’s email notifications; the company will email you two hours before the sale, ensuring you don’t miss it.
You can also enter your phone number, meaning you’ll receive a text reminder — perfect if you’re not constantly checking your inbox.
The Oodie has also shared a couple of helpful tips:
- Make sure you’ve got an account on The Oodie website, and that you’re logged in before the sale goes live to streamline the checkout process.
- While it’s okay to refresh the web page once when the timer has finished counting down, avoid refreshing multiple times, as it might cause the website to slow down or freeze completely.
- If you find yourself in a queue to check out, resist the temptation to refresh — you’re more likely to lose your spot.
- Ensure your payment details are up to date — The Oodie accepts methods including credit and debit cards and PayPal.
- To get free shipping, add some other items from the sale to your basket before the sale begins — delivery is free on orders over £50, otherwise it costs £3.99.
Are Oodies really worth all that faff?
Believe it or not, yes — it’s hard to fathom how comfortable Oodies are until you’ve actually worn one.
In our Oodie review, Sun Shopping’s reviews manager Kieran Ahuja called them a “non-negotiable” for cold weather, saying he was “wowed by how warm, cosy and high-quality” the hooded blanket was.
“Putting the heating on hasn’t even crossed my mind,” he wrote.
