Keir Starmer is doubling down on his ‘Digital ID.’ In the best classic authoritarian verbiage, he’s justifying it with a riff on their standard and well-nigh irresistible ‘for the children‘ mantra. This version whines as follows:

As a wise man also said, when something is free from the government, the product is you.
Free from a government that mandates you have one of these cards to work in your own country to ‘protect’ you from the illegal immigrants they are flooding the country with. A government that will now be able to monitor your every digital transaction, monitor your movements through them, even more so than is possible now.
All to ensure British citizens are the ones shackled to a digital monitoring system to ‘protect them’ from the illegal boatloads Labour will not stop from entering the country?

The prime minister acknowledged that his Labour Party had previously avoided addressing people’s concerns around illegal immigration.
“There is no doubt that for years Left-wing parties, including my own, did shy away from people’s concerns around illegal immigration,” he wrote in the Daily Telegraph. “It has been too easy for people to enter the country, work in the shadow economy and remain illegally.”
In his London remarks, he added: “Frankly, we’ve been squeamish about saying things that are clearly true.”
Since Labour’s landslide election victory in July 2024, more than 50,000 migrants have arrived in Britain on small, flimsy boats.
Does that make any sense to anyone who isn’t an autocrat and hasn’t seen the direction Labour is taking the country in?
What does digital ID have to do with physically stopping these boats?

It doesn’t, which is why there are already over a million people who’ve signed a petition against it for Starmer and his jackboots to ignore.

This is so patently a population control and monitoring move, it staggers the imagination.
The British government on Friday announced plans to issue digital IDs for workers, part of what it said was an effort to curb illegal migration.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer, of the center-left Labour Party, said that the program, called BritCard, would help secure Britain’s borders and deter undocumented migrants from coming to the country to find work. Opponents say it will infringe on citizens’ right to privacy.
Reform’s Farage and the Tories’ Badenoch immediately came out against it.
…Kemi Badenoch, leader of the Conservative Party, pointed out that digitized identity systems were already in use in banking and online services, but she said that her party was opposed to requiring such ID.
“We will not support any system that is mandatory for British people or excludes those of us who choose not to use it from any of the rights of our citizenship,” she wrote on social media.
Nigel Farage, leader of the anti-immigration Reform party, accused the government of overreach and questioned its ability to protect large troves of public data from hackers.
“It will make no difference to illegal immigration, but it will be used to control and penalise the rest of us,” he posted on social media.
The Open Rights Group, which campaigns for online safety, said that the policy could be a slippery slope, creating a society “where we constantly have to prove who we are to go about our daily lives.”

Of course, the milquetoast, mewling, hugely unpopular Starmer didn’t have the courage to drop this bomb on his fellow countrymen standing in front of them.
Oh, no.
He was surrounded and supported by his fellow globalists when he lathered on about squeamishness. Worryingly, this very much sounded as if it were a preemptive move to enshrine Labour’s authoritarian and dystopian policies before the very real chance of them being booted from office in the next general election. That’s even more revolting.
The British government said on Friday it would require every employee to hold a digital identity document, Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s latest attempt to tackle illegal migration and reduce the threat from the populist Reform UK party.
Addressing the Global Progress Action Summit alongside the leaders of Canada, Australia and Iceland, Starmer said his left-leaning Labour government, like others, had been “squeamish” about discussing voters’ concerns on immigration.
That had allowed parties such as Reform UK to gain popularity, Starmer said, acknowledging that the party led by Brexit veteran Nigel Farage was likely to be Labour’s main challenger at the next election, due in 2029.
“That is why today I am announcing this government will make a new, free-of-charge, digital ID mandatory for the right to work by the end of this parliament,” he said.
REDUCE THE THREAT FROM THE POPULIST REFORM UK PARTY
If anything, Starmer’s bought Reform even more support unless, like the Chinese government and their social monitoring, he can find a way to implement this and drive Reform underground.
Sir Keir and his Starmtroopers will be watching.
