Fashion icon Jackie Kennedy was a fan and right now I’m more than a little obsessed with white sunglasses. The reasons are simple: they add a pop to everything, instantly elevating whatever you’re wearing. And they look particularly fabulous with a tan.
I bought the Celine sunglasses I’m pictured in here on my last trip to Paris and have been wearing them on repeat ever since.
My sunnies are a great example of a micro trend, those little style shake-ups that appear right at the beginning of each season via street style and social media. Here are some others I’ve spotted that will add extra fun to your wardrobe.

- Stripes get bright While classic navy-and-white Breton stripes are a summer staple, striking primary colours are joining the line-up this season.
- Boho bags Valentino has led the fringed-bag trend with its tasselled Nellcôte shopper seen on the arms of fashionistas including Bella Hadid and Alexa Chung. And size matters – right now the bigger your raffia bag, the better. (Not that boho is just for bags: whimsical romantic dresses are flowing everywhere, too.)
- Say cheesecloth This light, natural material is the perfect choice for carefree summer holidays, along with linens and crochet – all with no ironing required. Check out Rae Feather’s cheesecloth pieces and Sézane’s linens – the skirt I’m pictured in is my warm-weather go-to teamed with a half-open shirt.
- Pendant power Worn over dresses and T-shirts, cord and leather pendants are summer’s coolest accessory.
- Surprise details Brands such as Carven, House of Dagmar and Jil Sander are offering soft silhouettes with a dash of the unexpected – think unusual hems and contemporary cuts. And the high street is in on it, too. My favourite piece is Mango’s cotton blouse with an asymmetric collar.
- Travel upgrades Silk pants, giant totes and oversized T-shirts are giving airport travellers an edge this season. I like to start my trips feeling good and am a big fan of easy-to-wear satin wide-leg trousers. Almada Label, Leset, Toteme and Zara all have great options.
FRINGE BENEFITS
Check out Mango’s latest drops – I adore this natural-fibre clutch with fringing. Model (and daughter of Cindy Crawford) Kaia Gerber is the new face of its summer collection and there are plenty more fabulous pieces to shop.
A STEP UP
One of my favourite brands for sandals and ballet flats, Aeyde delivers style plus comfort – which equals winner. Give your outfit a lift with this red pair.

SPOTTED
Actress Jennifer Lawrence knows how to rock summer’s boho frock. She has appeared in several stunning dresses on the red carpet recently, but my vote goes to this Dior floral kimono, which she wore in Cannes at a dinner for her new movie Die, My Love.
