KOREAN skincare has taken the beauty world by storm – and for good reason.
The science-focused products can now be found in Boots for less than £20, and they’ve been given the stamp of approval by an aesthetic doctor.
Dr Christine Hall hopped on TikTok to share her favourite products with her 12.7k followers.
“So normally in the Boots stores, they usually cluster all the K-beauty together,” she said.
“I found the first little bit of K-beauty, and it’s no surprise that it’s under the trending social section.
Dr Hall first recommended Numbuzin and Tocobo.
Pointing at the selection of Numbuzin products, she said: “Most of the things are around the £20 mark, but I’m going to let this one sneak in, it’s £21, but Numbuzin do these really great jumbo toner pads.
“You can wipe them over the skin, you can leave them on the skin, you can put them on areas that you feel need that kind of hydration – you don’t have to put them everywhere.
The product is called Numbuzin No.5+ Vitamin-Niacinamide Concentrated Pad 180ml, which has 70 pads.
Moving over to the shelf below, she pointed out the Tocobo range.
“So for people who haven’t heard of Tocobo, they do a really great SPF,” she said.
Dr Hall suggested shoppers buy the Tocobo Bio Watery Sun Cream SPF50 PA++++, which comes in a 50ml bottle for just £16.
She then showed her followers to the K-beauty corner, which offered a range of Korean skincare products, including Medicube and Skin1004.
“We’ve got Anua, which I know that you all know I absolutely love. [It’s] really reasonably priced.
“When it comes to Anua, their PDRN serum is incredible, in fact they’ve got two left.”
The serum Dr Hall picked up was the RDRN Hyaluronic Acid Capsule 100 Serum, which comes in a 50ml bottle for £20.
“It’s really good for soothing and hydrating the skin,” she explained.
“But what I’ve been doing with it is mixing it in with my foundation and it just makes it a little bit lighter and more glowy.”
She then pointed out the Beauty of Joseon collection and highlighted that the store had sold out of the brand’s Daily Tinted Fluid Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF30 PA+++.
This is currently on offer for £8.50, down from £17.
She also recommended the “cult” brand Matte Sun Stick: Mugwort + Camilia, which is £17.10.
“It can go over makeup, and it doesn’t smudge or mess it up, that much.”
She suggested Skin1004’s Water Fit Sun Serum for £17.60 and Round Lab’s Dokto range, which is super hydrating and under £20.
“Korean beauty is known for being very good and very affordable, and if you’re fortunate to leave near a bigger Boots than this, you’re probably going to find a much bigger range of K-beauty.”
