THEY’RE the £2.99 tealight lamp from Mrs Hinch’s Home Bargains range that have gone mega viral online.
And now opportunistic resellers are taking full advantage of the item’s popularity by posting them on sites including eBay – with a massive price hike.
One such seller decided to list the lamp for a whopping £64.99, leading to outrage from people online.
A shopper took to the Home Bargains Appreciation Society group on Facebook to share a screenshot of the eBay listing, writing: “Is this a joke?
“Disgusting behaviour!”
“Don’t understand why everyone wants the same cheap lamps for their homes, plenty of better ones out there,” one person commented on the post.

To which another hit back: “Because they’re lovely and unique (I’ve never seen a tea light lamp).
“For me personally, I’m limited for space too so they’d go nicely on my compact side tables.”
“Supply and demand – they’ve obviously got a good mind for business,” a third said.
“And that’s nothing to be ashamed of with the way this world is at the moment.”
The person who posted the listing definitely isn’t ashamed either.
As they’ve managed to sell 21 of the lamps, priced from £12.50 up to £39.99.
And given that the lamps are £2.99 in the high street store, the seller has made a whopping £321.67 profit.
In the description of the product on the listing, the seller called the tealight lamp an “elegant addition to any home, perfect for adding a touch of gold and glass to a space”.
“Designed in collaboration with the popular brand Mrs Hinch Home, this tea light holder is not only stylish but also adds a warm and inviting ambience to any room,” they added.
“Made in China, this tealight holder is a must-have for those who appreciate quality craftsmanship and a touch of sophistication in their home decor.”
But one person argued: “They’re pretty, don’t get me wrong, but not £60+ pretty!”
“I don’t understand the hype either,” another agreed.
