Charlie Sheen‘s life has been laid bare in a new Netflix show.
The Two And A Half Men star has led a life of very public highs and lows, and to mark turning 60, he is telling his side of the story.
The two-part documentary aka Charlie Sheen was released on September 10 and features interviews with Charlie, his ex-wife, actor Denise Richards and actors Sean Penn, Chris Tucker and Jon Cryer.
While many parts of Charlie’s life have made headlines in the past, several revelations on the show will shock his fans.
This includes how he once piloted a jet drunk, how he lost his virginity, and he how suffered an 18-hour nosebleed during filming.

Charlie grew up in a nudist household
Charlie recalled a period during his childhood when his parents practiced nudism.
He explained: ‘Maybe for a month, or five, I don’t know. I’m 5, walking into the kitchen, and there’s my naked parents.’
Film director Andrew Renzi added: ‘He experienced Hollywood in a way no one else had. His family lived in Malibu, and it was a totally different kind of Hollywood lifestyle.’
Charlie piloted a passenger jet while he was drunk
In one of the opening scenes, Charlie explains how in 1995, while on his honeymoon with his first wife, Donna Peele, he was invited into the cockpit of the plane to pose for pictures with the flight crew.
He asked if he could sit in the captain’s chair and the co-pilot switched off the autopilot and briefly allowed Charlie to fly the plane, before switching it back on.
Charlie recalled: ‘I sat back down, owning this experience, and I just knew that trouble was on the horizon.’
When asked in the film if he felt ‘untouchable’ in that moment, Charlie simply answered ‘yes.’

Extreme lengths he went to in order to stay awake to film
Charlie revealed in his new Netflix documentary that he was so high in the ’90s that he had to put an ice cube inside his rectum to stay awake at work.
His drug abuse was so extreme on the set of 1998 film Free Money that he had to take an unusual step to simply stay awake after the director noticed he was constantly falling asleep.
The actor said: ‘That had never happened before.
‘I said, ‘Give me a glass of ice’ and I said, ‘I’ll be right back.’ There was a little bathroom, and I went in there, and I took an ice cube and I shoved it up my butt.
‘Never done that before. And, man, I was wide awake just enough to get back on the mark and finish the scene.’
Charlie suffered an 18-hour nosebleed
Charlie once suffered an 18-hour nosebleed while filming because of his heavy cocaine use.
He said: ‘I got an 18-hour nosebleed from doing too much cocaine.
‘I just kept kind of blotting it. There was one night where it actually dripped onto my shirt during a scene. I got the director, Brett Ratner, to make that shot go away forever. And he did, because we’ve never seen it, right?’
Despite his struggles, Charlie was able to finally give up alcohol and drugs in 2017 – and he has been single and celibate ever since.

Charlie lost his virginity to a Las Vegas hooker
The actor recalled the bizarre story of losing his virginity to ‘a gorgeous red-headed Vegas escort named Candy’ when he was a sophomore in high school.
Not only did Sheen use his famous dad’s credit card to pay the hooker, but his friend was also there to partake in the festivities.
Martin was not thrilled with his son when he learned about the escort, with Sheen sharing he was given a two-hour lecture from his father about ‘sex vs. love.’
Charlie had sex with men
For the first time in his tumultuous life, Charlie is revealing his past sexual experiences with men.
In both the documentary and his new memoir, released one day prior, he confessed some previously unknown information.
In both he admits: ‘I flipped the menu over.’
An interviewer asks him how it feels to be going public with this very personal information.
He responded: ‘It’s f*cking liberating. It’s like a train didn’t come through the side of the restaurant. A f*cking piano didn’t fall out of the sky. No one ran into the room and shot me.’
Charlie’s HIV diagnosis
The documentary shows that while Charlie was experiencing headaches, chills, and full-body sweats, his ex-wife Denise Richards urged him to get tested for HIV.
Charlie opened up on the anxiety and uncertainty he felt while waiting for the diagnosis.
Charlie added that he was always upfront with his sexual partners after his diagnosis and said: ‘Nobody got this from me. Period. The end. Full stop.’
He was even blackmailed for millions of dollars by people threatening to disclose his HIV status.
Charlie’s drug dealer helped him get sober
Charlie former drug dealer Marco explained that he was approached by Charlie’s drug counsellor, who asked if he could make the crack he was supplying less potent.
Marco revealed that he secretly reduced the amount of cocaine he used over the course of a year and a half in the hope he could help get Charlie off drugs.

Charlie’s family were concerned enough about his excessive drinking to set up a surprise intervention and invited him over under the pretense of a birthday celebration for his father, actor Martin Sheen.
On arrival his mother Janet hugged him and asked, ‘Are you armed?’
Charlie recalled: ‘I thought she was joking,’ adding that he said no, ‘but maybe there’s something in the trunk.’
The intervention was attended by longtime friends and family, who wanted to get him into rehab.
Charlie said: ‘There’s my yoga instructor, and Rob Lowe is there. And then there’s Emilio and (siblings) Renée and Ramon, and my parents.’
His father Martin sealed the deal by handing the telephone to his son, without telling him Clint Eastwood was on the line.
Charlie recalled: ‘He said something to the effect of ‘You gotta get the train back on the tracks. kid, You’re worth saving.’ It was really powerful. I thanked him, gave the phone back to my dad and said, ‘All right, let’s go.”

Charlie was expected to judge a Hawaiian Tropic bikini competition in Palm Springs, California with Nicolas Cage.
Charlie wrote a promise to the facility’s night nurse that he would leave and return by 8am or pay her $1 million and she agreed.
He returned to the facility at 7:40am, earlier than promised, sharing: ‘It was as fantabulous and sexy and as exciting as it could have been.’
The night nurse, ‘was happy for me, but disappointed for herself. She said, ‘Well, whatever, you’re a man of your word. Welcome back. We kept your room for you.”
