THE 70 percent question on The 1% Club left some of the contestants stumped.
Hosted by Lee Mack, the ITV series is a logic-based quiz show that works by starting with 100 players who are eliminated during an episode as they get answers incorrect.
The questions get progressively harder until only 1 percent of contestants remain.
One a vintage episode of The 1% Club, Lee presented the studio contestants with the 70 percent question.
The tricky question asked: “Fiona and James are married. Fiona is always grumpy on a day that has an S in it. And James is always grumpy on a day that has an M in it. What is the only day of the week they are both happy?”
“Am I the only thinking that Fiona and James won’t last,” Lee joked as the contestants typed in their answers.
The answer was, Friday, and five people were eliminated for getting the question wrong.
According to the question, Fiona was grumpy on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursday, Saturdays and Sundays. While James was grumpy on Mondays, leaving Friday their only grumpy-free day.
ITV has confirmed the TV quiz show will return for a fifth season and are on the hunt for eager contestants.
Applications for series five are now underway – and hopefuls have until Friday, September 26 to sign up.
The Sun had previously revealed ITV’s smash hit would be returning for both series four and five.
An insider said at the time: “The show has well and truly proved its popularity with viewers, and so it’s only natural to bring it back for not one, but two more rounds.
“This will also include two Christmas specials, which will air on ITV after the main series have run.”
But the 1% Club is set to get a new rival after its huge success in Japan.
The show called 100 Choices sees a group of contestants presented with 1 question and 100 possible answers.
Its premise is similar to The 1% Club where but there’s a twist in the new show.
In 100 Choices, the question is near impossible to answer straight away and to help narrow down the possibilities its contestants must tackle five physical challenges.
Each success will then enable them to eliminate incorrect options.
Acquired by Sony Pictures Television, the show will will be launching at London Screenings 2025.
