The offer, called “Tesco Tuesdays”, allows members to exchange 50p or more in Clubcard vouchers for a Cineworld reward code, which doubles in value.

This means standard 2D tickets cost just £2.50 in vouchers, or £5 in cash.

Up to four tickets can be purchased per booking.

To take advantage, members need to swap their vouchers via the Tesco app or website, then use the reward code when booking tickets on the Cineworld site.

The deal is only valid for Tuesday screenings.

Tesco Group membership and loyalty director Shama Wilson said: “Tuesday night can now be movie night every week for Tesco Clubcard members.

“Whether you want to watch a spooky horror film in the run up to Halloween or the big Christmas blockbuster – as long as you see it on Tuesday you can snap up a ticket at Cineworld for just £2.50 in Clubcard vouchers.”

The deal is part of Tesco’s wider Clubcard rewards programme, which includes discounts with over 100 partners.

Grainne Clarke, head of corporate sales and partnerships at Cineworld said: “Tesco Tuesdays is the next step in our ongoing partnership with Tesco Clubcard.

“Over the past year we’ve worked closely together to strengthen that collaboration and find new ways to reward loyalty on both sides.

“This always-on offer gives Clubcard members £5 cinema tickets every Tuesday – a simple, rewarding way to enjoy the big screen for less.”

What is Tesco’s Clubcard scheme?

Tesco’s Clubcard scheme allows shoppers to earn points as they shop, these points can then be turned into vouchers for money off food or other reward partner schemes.

When you spend £1 in-store or online, you get one point when you scan your card or app.

Drivers using Clubcards now get one point for every two litres spent on fuel.

One point equals 1p, so 150 points gets you £1.50, for example.

You’ll need a minimum of 150 points to request a voucher.

These vouchers can either be worth the face value to spend in-store at Tesco, or you can double their worth to spend at reward partners, including restaurants, and on days out.

Loyalty card holders can also get cheaper prices on over 8,000 items thanks to Clubcard Prices.

These Clubcard prices save the average member £360 on their annual shop, according to Tesco.

How to bag a bargain

SUN Savers Editor Lana Clements explains how to find a cut-price item and bag a bargain…

Sign up to loyalty schemes of the brands that you regularly shop with.

Big names regularly offer discounts or special lower prices for members, among other perks.

Sales are when you can pick up a real steal.

Retailers usually have periodic promotions that tie into payday at the end of the month or Bank Holiday weekends, so keep a lookout and shop when these deals are on.

Sign up to mailing lists and you’ll also be first to know of special offers. It can be worth following retailers on social media too.

When buying online, always do a search for money off codes or vouchers that you can use vouchercodes.co.uk and myvouchercodes.co.uk are just two sites that round up promotions by retailer.

Scanner apps are useful to have on your phone. Trolley.co.uk app has a scanner that you can use to compare prices on branded items when out shopping.

Bargain hunters can also use B&M’s scanner in the app to find discounts in-store before staff have marked them out.

And always check if you can get cashback before paying which in effect means you’ll get some of your money back or a discount on the item.

How do I reclaim lost Clubcard points?

Many people lose or forget to use their Tesco vouchers, but there’s an easy way to claw back the last two years of unused vouchers.

Here’s exactly how to find out if you have any unused vouchers.

The first step is to log into your Tesco Clubcard account on Tesco.com or via the Clubcard app.

You’ll need your name, email address and Clubcard number to hand.

Once you’ve logged in, navigate to “My Clubcard Account” and then click on “Vouchers” to see a full list of any vouchers you still have to spend.

You can use the code included in your voucher to spend online.

If you want to redeem them in-store, you’ll need to print them off and take them with you.
