This is the terrifying moment a machete wielding thug attempts to stab two men during a ‘wild west’ style mass brawl that erupted on a residential street in Birmingham.
The shocking footage was captured when around 20 men fought in broad daylight along Showell Green Lane in Sparkhill, Birmingham as frightened bystanders and passing motorists looked on.
As fighting spilled out into the middle of the suburban thoroughfare a man wearing a grey sweatshirt and black track suit bottoms can be seen holding what appears to be a large knife.
With ferocious punches and kicks being traded as the men fought in the middle of the road, he is filmed rushing into the melee and attempts to slash a man in a white vest who is attacking a man wearing a robe.
He appears to strike his back with the large blade and then steps away from the brawl returning moments later to try and slash a man in a blue tee-shirt who is punching a rival who has fallen in the middle of the road.
The machete wielder is then seen being led away by another man and calmly walking around the corner as the fighting continues.
It is not known what caused the vicious brawl which appears to have started as two groups of men remonstrated with each other while stood around a sliver car.
Shouts of ‘oi, oi’ can then be heard and fighting initially breaks out in a garden with other men brawling in the road, causing passing traffic to swerve around them as shocked motorists sounded their horns.

One onlooker who did not wish to be named said: ‘It was like a Wild West saloon brawl, there were bodies everywhere as the men rolled around the ground fighting.
‘I don’t know what caused it, but this group were talking in a quite animated way for a while before something sparked it.
“From then on it was just carnage. All hell broke loose. There were fights breaking out all over the place. It’s not want you want to see.’
The onlooker added: ‘It’s pretty shameful really, there’s lots of families with kids around here and you’ve got grown men acting like this.’
Another witness said: ‘We only noticed the man with the machete when we saw the video. Luckily, he never stabbed anyone, but you can see that he tried this best to.
‘It’s frightening to think that there are morons like this walking around with weapons-he could easily have killed someone or caused them serious injury.’
After the fighting came to a stop, some of them men continued to remonstrate with each other, but the majority got in their cars and drove off.

The Sparkhill area of Birmingham has been blighted by gang violence in recent years with much of it attributed to drug dealing that the neighbourhood has become notorious for.
Last year, videos posted on social media showed a man being stabbed while walking along a busy road in Sparkhill in the middle of the afternoon.
Footage showed the victim trading blows with a man in the middle of the road while cars swerved around them.
Two men are then seen sprinting into the road to join the brawl – with one pulling a large knife out of his waistband and then stabbing him.
Earlier this year, a drugs gang that sold multiple kilos of heroin and cocaine across Birmingham were jailed for a combined total of 77 years.
Police started investigating the drug ring after some of its members attacked a house in Sparkhill from where a rival drug gang was operating with machetes and shotguns.
Following last week’s brawl in Sparkhill, a West Midlands Police spokesperson said: ‘We’ve arrested four men on suspicion of violent disorder following an incident on Showell Green Lane, Sparkhill, shortly after 7.30pm, last Wednesday (13 August).
