THIS is the horrifying moment a couple discovered a venomous cobra on their bed in the middle of the night.
The pair were woken up by the slithering snake near their heads around 5am in a Krabi hotel in Thailand.
Chaos unfolded as one of the couple ran from the room screaming, while the other remained in bed assuming it was a nightmare.
Video footage captured the moments a snake catcher located and removed the dangerous snake from beneath the bed.
Two people using mobile phone torches were seen looking behind the two beds pushed together.
The man – understood to be a professional snake catcher – in the video began moving the pillows and bedding, appearing to be able to see the serpent behind the bedframe.
A woman got up on the bed in an attempt to see the dangerous animal as well.
After a few minutes the snake catcher moved one of the beds away from the wall, before the camera caught a glimpse of the snake.
It was lying on the floor in the crevice between the wall and the floor before the snake catcher grabbed it by the tail.
He lifted the cobra above the mattress and it was seen flaring its hood.
The man continued to hold the snake up for a few minutes as it darted its head back and forth trying to take a bite out of its captor.
The couple later said they had heard the large cobra aggressively hissing from within the room.
The first of the couple to notice the reptile had screamed: “A snake, there’s a snake slithering across my neck, a black cobra!” according to the Free Press Journal.
The snake was estimated to have been five feet in length and was highly agitated.
The intense video has left those on social media stunned.
Many people expressed shock at how close the couple were to danger.
“That is terrifying, especially at 5am. I’d be out of there immediately,” one person said.
Another quipped: “New fear unlocked, thank you for confirming why I’ll never visit Thailand.”
A third said: “How did a cobra get into a hotel? I’ll be scared to death to step my feet back into that room”.
