Terrified Erika Kirk desperately tried to undo witches’ curse on husband Charlie organized by woke website Jezebel days before assassination

Erika Kirk is said to have asked for help after the liberal website Jezebel paid witches to curse her husband just two days before he was assassinated.

The grieving widow, 36, was ‘genuinely rattled’ over the story, which claimed the author had paid witches on Etsy to curse Charlie, 31, according to Megyn Kelly.

The Kirks were so concerned by the article that they summoned a Catholic priest to undo the curse the night before the conservative commentator was shot dead at Utah Valley University, Kelly revealed on her YouTube show on Tuesday.

The media personality said ‘Erika and Charlie Kirk heard about these curses, and that news genuinely rattled Erika in particular… She was scared.

‘So much so that she and Charlie contacted a friend, who I believe she said was a Catholic priest, and asked him to come over and pray with them over Charlie the night before he was murdered.’

Kelly added: ‘Why torture a family like this? A Christian, believing family. Why do this vile thing to a young couple?’

The Jezebel article, published on September 8, was titled ‘We Paid Some Etsy Witches to Curse Charlie Kirk.’

After Kirk was murdered two days later, the news website issued a statement clarifying the timing of the post and announcing it was removed.

‘This story was published on September 8,’ the website said in the statement following the death of Kirk, a close ally of Donald Trump who played an influential role in rallying young Republican voters.

The outlet continued: ‘Jezebel condemned the shooting of Charlie Kirk in the strongest possible terms.

‘We do not endorse, encourage, or excuse political violence of any kind.’

‘There actually are demons in this world, calling on the spirit world, in particular the  devil’s spirit world, can actually have real-world consequences. It’s not something to mess with… It’s not a game, it’s literally evil.’

In the first-person narrative, the author mused on the charms of being able to purchase a ‘curse as easily as I can buy a phone charger.’

They explained in detail the different services provided on Etsy in terms of witchcraft.

They subsequently tagged Kirk as one of the ‘downsides’ of the internet, citing his politics.

‘Maybe it’s his obsession with telling women what to do or his aggressively large head, but the far-right podcaster’s presence is more irritating than most,’ the author said.

The article posed the question: ‘Are you interested in punishing Kirk for the years of regressive rhetoric he’s shouted at America’s youth and anyone within earshot?

‘Here at Jezebel, we’re about to find out if there’s a spell for that.’

In describing Charlie, the author said that he ‘debates college kids for sport, pops up on Fox News, and founded the right-wing conspiracy theory factory Turning Point USA.’

The author conceded a moral ‘gray area’ in cursing someone they never met, adding: ‘I want to make it clear, I’m not calling on dark forces to cause him harm.’

The author cited a number of small inconveniences they hope Charlie would experience such as ‘an inexplicable zit;’ malfunctioning broadcasting equipment and ill-fitting apparel.

The author said they hoped ‘to ruin his day with the collective feminist power of the Etsy coven would be my life’s greatest joy’.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Jezebel for comment on this story.
