A teenager and a man have been arrested after a 13-year-old boy was hit and killed by a car.
A white Seat Ibiza was travelling along Fairmont Road in Grimsby when it is believed to have collided with a child riding a scooter across the road at around 6pm on Tuesday.
Emergency services attended the scene immediately, and the boy was then transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, the teenager tragically passed away on Friday evening.
Humberside Police said officers had arrested an 18-year-old man on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He is also suspected of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

A 41-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
Both men have since been released under investigation.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has any information including CCTV or dashcam footage from around the time the incident is believed to have occurred, to contact the force on 101 quoting log 346 of 24 March.
A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: ‘A 13-year-old boy has died following a road traffic collision on Fairmont Road in Grimsby on Tuesday, 24 March 2026.
‘At around 6pm, we received reports that a white Seat Ibiza was travelling on Fairmont Road before it is believed to have been in collision with a child riding a self-propelled scooter across the road.
‘Emergency services attended, and the 13-year-old boy was taken to hospital for treatment to life threatening injuries. Despite the efforts of medical professionals over the past four days, the teenager sadly died yesterday evening (Friday, 27 March).
‘Enquiries remain ongoing to determine the full circumstances around the collision, and as part of these initial enquiries, we can confirm that an 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
‘A 41-year-old man has also been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice, and both men have since been released under investigation.’
