Old mine cut diamonds were especially popular in the 18th and 19th centuries and each one is completely unique.
They are hand-cut and are known for their cushion-like shape, rounded corners and chunky facets – and no two are alike.
The outlet reports that the accessory was co-designed by Kindred Lubeck and Travis himself.
Usually, Lubeck’s rings for Artifex Fine range in price but they start from $4,300 dollars for a a signet style with a North Star motif.
The 5.02-carat old mine cognac diamond design would have set the player back $38,000.
But gem experts told the publication that Taylor’s ring – with featured a North-South setting within a gold band – was a custom design.
Experts advised that the huge ring could be worth between $750,000 up to $1million.
In 2024, Lubeck told Voyage Jacksonville in an interview: “I am a goldsmith specializing in hand engraving (think of it as tattooing rings – a lot of people confuse engraving with ‘etching’)
“Basically, I take very small, sharp instruments and cut away bits of metal, usually on the sides of rings, into a particular design.”
But our expert George Khalife, also known as George the Jeweler reveals that the ring could cost even more.
He is renown as a top jeweler and designer, who is known for working with a star-studded roster of clients.
He says: “This ring is a brilliant cut, and the style is called a bezel setting (that’s the gold that wraps around the diamond) and it’s super popular right now, just like yellow gold in general.
“It’s rumored to be an Old Mine diamond, which comes with a lot of history! The whole look feels really antique, which I think suits Taylor perfectly.”
He added: “I’d estimate it’s between 10-20 carats and the price could range from 1-5 million dollars.”
