Zohran Mamdani is the perfect embodiment of the socialist movement.

His rhetoric is all about the inherent unfairness of capitalism. He preaches socialist “solutions” to problems inherent not in capitalist systems–inequality has been a constant in human affairs for as long as civilization has existed, and only capitalist societies allow people from all classes to attain wealth without seizing it–while benefiting mightily from the system that he claims to abhor.

It is a tale as old as the politics of resentment. People who have inherited wealth no longer have to pursue wealth, so their generation pursues power instead. And their route to power is whipping up crowds of people and directing their anger at the “system.” They present themselves as the solution to whatever ails the masses, and the masses support them, thereby maximizing their power in hopes of reaping rewards.

The most prominent leftists are multi-millionaires and billionaires. And while Mamdani is no billionaire–his wealth is more in line with the Gracchi Brothers, who were members of the elite–his pursuit of power is entirely subsidized by his wealthy parents.

He no longer needs money–he has enough to live quite well the rest of his life, and his parents have posh homes on three continents. His ambition is to become king of New York City–he has neither the skill nor the inclination to become a billionaire.

But he still loves the high life.

Socialist NYC mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani celebrated his recent nuptials with a lavish, three-day affair at his family’s ritzy, secluded Ugandan compound — complete with masked security guards and a cellphone jamming system, The Post has learned.

The gates of the bustling, private compound, which sits in the wealthy Buziga Hill area outside the capital city of Kampala, were heavily guarded by military-style, masked men this week, with guests streaming in and partying until midnight, according to sources in the town who wished to remain anonymous for security reasons.

Mamdani, 33, eloped with artist and animator Rama Duwaji, 27, in February.

He told his social media followers Sunday he was heading to his homeland to celebrate with his wealthy filmmaker mom and professor dad, who own the Buziga Hill property.

The neighborhood is home to some of Uganda’s richest, including billionaire businessman Godfrey Kirumira, a city tycoon with stakes in real estate, tourism, petroleum and infrastructure…

The party came complete with Ugandan special forces protection, and the president of Uganda came to pay his respects to the happy couple.

All this for a man who happens to live in a rent-controlled apartment in New York City and who is promising the moon to the underclass–and absolution to wealthy people who feel guilty for living well because their own wealth is unearned, such as actress Cynthia Nixon.

Security was extremely tight, sources said.

“Outside the Mamdani house were more than 20 special forces command unit guards, some in masks, and there was a phone-jamming system set up — and all for the strictly invite-only Mamdani event,” one witness confirmed to The Post.

“One gate had around nine guards stationed at it,” they added.

Mamdani is, as with AOC and her “squadmates,” all share the same “defund the police” ideology–promising free rides for criminals–while spending untold amounts of money on private security. Like Maduro in Venezuela and communist leaders everywhere, they insulate themselves from the consequences of their policies–only the middle class pays the highest price for their political malpractice.

Mamdani has no shame about this. In fact, he revels in it, secure in the knowledge that his followers don’t care. They don’t identify with Mamdani–they simply anticipate that he will spread others’ wealth around to their own benefit.

And his supporters in the cultural elite? They don’t see anything unusual in such behavior. It is how they live.

The Queens assemblyman confirmed in an Instagram video that he would stay in Uganda until the end of the month.

“Since you will undoubtedly read about this trip in The New York Post —Inshallah on the front page—here are a few of my humble suggestions for headlines,” Mamdani quipped while holding a slew of newspaper covers, one which read, “M.I.A.:MAMDANI IN AFRICA.”

It is hardly inevitable that Mamdani will win–a lot can happen between now and November–but it certainly is likely. His opposition is split, and the ranked-choice voting system works to his favor. Mayor Adams and Governor Cuomo are taking votes from each other, and both are damaged goods.

Mamdani? He is charming and fun to watch, as long as you don’t care that he will damage the city and make the lives of the middle and working classes worse.

I still maintain that New York has so much wealth and vitality that it can survive even the grotesque mismanagement that Mamdani will bring. New York rebounded after the disaster of the 1970s, and it will likely do so again. Unlike Portland and Seattle, it has a long history of resilience and can withstand many blows.

But it will be made worse–not that Mamdani will care. He can jet off to Uganda whenever he likes.
