STRICTLY Come Dancing’s Amber Davis has opened up on her “tough” week after being subject to horrific trolling since Sunday’s shock eviction.
The BBC One show’s weekend Dance Off saw Love Island alum Amber, 29, and professional partner Nikita Kuzmin, 27, battle it out against Lewis Cope, 30, and show pro Katya Jones, 36.
On Saturday’s episode of Musicals Week, Amber and Nikita topped the table with 40 points for their perfect Charleston.
Katya and actor Lewis, who had long been fan-favourites, suffered a rare rough patch with their Salsa and scooped 35 points – leaving them second from bottom.
Yet after they battled it out, the latter duo were booted off of the show during Sunday night’s quarter finals.
Strictly‘s Katya told how her heart was “broken” following the eviction before fans hailed the shock outcome the “biggest robbery in show history”.
Through the series, but particularly over the weekend, Welsh theatre performer Amber has faced sick online trolling over her previous dance experience and spot on the show.
On Wednesday’s episode of Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two she opened up on her connection with Lewis and said: “Lewis was my rock.
“I would like to think I have thick skin but obviously the start of the week has been tougher than usual.
“I would like to remind everyone I wasn’t supposed to be here.
“I was a last minute replacement and I’m just trying to do my best.”
Nikita was originally paired with Dani Dyer, who was forced to withdraw from the series ahead of the first live show due to injury.
SHOCK TROLLING
Lewis was controversially eliminated from the competition, with all four judges saving Amber over the weekend.
After Amber was saved by all four judges, fans and trolls took to social media to air their thoughts.
But “the meanies were out to play” and Amber quickly urged people to “be kind”.
Taking to Instagram in a now-expired post, Amber made a plea to the cruel trolls.

She said: “Guys, please.. it’s really is just a television show.
“I wasn’t even supposed to be in the comp.
“You have no idea what we put our mind and body through for this experience.
“I’m really just trying my best with the opportunity that came to me. To anyone who has left a NICE comment thank you.”
She added: “The meanies are out to play. Please be kind.”
LEWIS SPEAKS OUT
Lewis spoke out about being “robbed” after his Strictly Come Dancing exit.
Appearing on It Takes Two on Monday, Lewis admitted he was gutted to have narrowly missed out on the semi-final.
He said: “We’re just trying to focus on the positives, it’s been an amazing 11 weeks and of course it hurts and it will take a bit of time to get over.
“But I’m really proud of what we’ve done.”
Pro dancer Katya Jones shared: “We wouldn’t do anything differently, we stayed true ourselves with each number
“A lot of my life I was told ‘less Katya’, but finally I just needed the right dance partner to match that.
“We did say we were such a good team, we said to ourselves at the very start of that that it was going to be a ‘yes room’ and we stuck to that.”
