Alan Carr is Strictly contestant Lewis Cope‘s top pick to take over as host of the show.
Last month, Tess Daly, 56, and Claudia Winkleman, 53, announced they were stepping down from presenting duties.
With the BBC searching for replacements to front the show, this year’s star Lewis thinks Alan will be the perfect fit.
On Thursday night, Alan was hailed a national treasure by viewers who tuned in to Celebrity Traitors to see the comedian bag the £87,500 prize pot.
Emmerdale star Lewis, 30, who is paired with Katya Jones, told The Mirror: ‘I think Alan would be brilliant. He’s funny, people love him, and he’s really current.’
Viewers watched in awe as Alan snatched the prize – despite his previous claims he was as bad a Traitor as series three star Linda Rands.

With a peak of 12 million viewers, it was the BBC’s biggest overnight audience since Gavin & Stacey’s Christmas special last year, with many wondering what is next in store for the comedian.
Meanwhile Katya believes former pro Janette Manrara would be a perfect fit for the show.
Katya, 36, said: ‘Alan would be great fun, but I think Janette Manrara would make an amazing host.
‘She knows the dancing, she knows what we go through. She’d bring real heart.’
Janette, 41, presents Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two alongside Fleur East, 38. The former professional dancer took over the role from Zoe Ball in 2021.
But sources say the broadcaster could ‘opt for two more women’ but should also consider what the series ‘should look and feel like’ in the future.
A source told The Sun: ‘What is more certain is the fact that execs are expected to opt for two more women, because the Beeb value the symbolism of an all-female presenting team on their biggest Saturday night show.’

In a separate update, the insider added: ‘They discussed this privately and agreed they would walk away together, but kept it firmly under wraps.
‘It’s incredible they’ve managed to keep it a secret for so long. Only the top brass at the BBC knew, along with their immediate family.’
Daily Mail has contacted the BBC for comment.
Names to replace the hosting duo are already being suggested, with Zoe Ball, Holly Willoughby, Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton among the front runners.
Other names who have been mentioned so far include Roman Kemp, former Strictly pro Janette Manara and former contestant Alex Scott.
TV and radio veteran Zoe one of the biggest names to be tipped as the new host of the BBC dancing competition.
The mother of two would make a natural fit for the gig as she is well acquainted with the show thanks to her old presenting role on its spin-off, It Takes Two.
She is currently the 2-1 favourite to take on the role after Tess and Claudia leave the show, according to Coral Bookmakers.
