An insider revealed: “Luke has so much experience and is already loved by everyone so he seems like a very obvious fit.

“There have been some very big clues recently that haven’t gone unnoticed. Everyone thinks it’s just a matter of time before Luke is announced.”

The award-winning dancer is currently taking part in the Strictly experience weekends, which take place in Warner Hotels up and down the country.

The experiences are billed as a chance for guests to meet the show’s well-known professional dancers – and Luke is on the bill alongside favourites Kai Widdrington, Lauren Oakley, Michelle Tsakis, Katya Jones and Luba Mushtuk.

Last series Luke was brought on to help choreograph a couple of the routines and he’s currently working alongside Kai on his solo tour.

Strictly bosses revealed the list of pro dancers who would be returning to the show this year.

The list included Katya , Jowita Pryzstal and Kai as well as last year’s winner Dianne Buswell, who took home the 2024 glitterball with her celebrity partner, comedian Chris McCausland.

Nadiya Bychkova, Aljaž Škorjanec, Amy Dowden, Carlos Gu, Gorka Márquez, Karen Hauer, Lauren Oakley, Luba , Nancy Xu, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Vito Coppola and Michelle are all returning for the 2025.

But there announced that two new faces would be joining after Giovanni, 34, quit the scandal-hit show last summer after nine years on Strictly as he faced allegations over his training methods with previous celebrity partners — including 51-year-old actress Amanda Abbington.

Fellow Italian pro dancer Graziano Di Prima, 30, was axed from the hit BBC show amid claims he hit, kicked and spat at his celebrity partner Zara McDermott, 28.

The Sun previously told how dancer Simone Arena, 33, whose girlfriend is Michelle Tsiakkas, 29, is poised to join the show this autumn.

We also revealed that Strictly has been in talks with former Dancing With The Stars winner – Pasquale La Rocca.

And Strictly fans are convinced Australian dancer Alex Vladimirov could be joining after they clocked that she has recently moved to London.

The 26-year-old is also no stranger to dancing competitions, having competed on Dancing With The Stars Australia for five years and then joining the Irish version this year.

The BBC declined to comment.
