STEVEN GERRARD was given a warm welcome in South Korea as he joined a host of football legends including Ronaldinho ahead of the Nexon Icons Match 2025.
The annual event is now in its second year and will feature a unique rule twist this time around.
A full team of legendary attackersm nanaged by Arsene Wenger, will face off against a Rafa Benitez’s team of iconic defenders or defensive minded players.
The match will take place on Sunday, with kick-off set for 11.30am BST (7.30pm local time) at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.
Gerrard, who is part of the attackers’ team, will be joined by former greats such as Wayne Rooney, Didier Drogba, Ronaldinho and Eden Hazard.
Meanwhile, the defenders’ line-up includes names like Alessandro Nesta, Ashley Cole and John Arne Riise, promising plenty of tackles.
The unusual format is expected to create a fast-paced, open game, offering fans a fresh way to see some of their favourite former players in action.
How to watch
The Nexon Icons Match 2025 will be available to watch worldwide on FC Mobile’s in-game broadcast channel.
Last year’s edition was also streamed on EA Sports FC’s official South Korean YouTube channel, and it’s likely the platform will be used again.
The event spans over two days, with Day 1 featuring fun football challenges, also broadcast via the FC Mobile channel.

Fans will be able to see legends take part in everything from shooting drills to skills challenges, building up to the main match on Day 2.
