Stacey Solomon revealed an unlikely connection with David Beckham on Tuesday evening after reaching out to the former footballer for some much needed advice.
The TV personality has returned to the BBC with Stacey & Joe, a fly-on-the-wall docuseries charting her chaotic home life at Pickle Cottage – the sprawling Essex home she shares with husband Joe Swash and their four children.
And she found herself turning to Beckham for guidance after deciding to follow in his footsteps by getting a beehive and cultivating her own range of homemade honey.
Persuaded by older sister Gemma, a reluctant Solomon, 35, decided to send the former Manchester United and England midfielder a voice note with the vague hope of getting an invite to his Cotswolds garden.
Opting to send him the message on Instagram, she said: ‘I’m getting a beehive and I know you and Victoria have got bees and they’re a big part of your life, so I just wondered if you had any top tips or advice.’
Visibly cringing, she added: ‘I’m already regretting sending you this message because I know you’ll never see it, or hear it, and if you do you’ll probably think I’m a weirdo.’

Evidently embarrassed, she told her sister: ‘I’m going to be blacklisted from all cool things now because I’ve just sent David Beckham the most loser-ish message.’
As expected, the former footballer, 50, failed to acknowledge the message – much to the relief of Solomon’s husband.
‘Damn right he didn’t reply, he better not either,’ he joked when asked if he had reached out. ‘Hands off mate. I don’t need David Beckham as competition! It’s the last thing I need.
‘I’ve got dogs, ducks, the last thing I need is David Beckham.’
Beckham regularly shares social media updates on his beekeeping activities after installing a series of hives in the grounds of his £12million Cotswolds bolthole.
And in an exciting new move to add to his estimated £372million ($450m) net worth, he has has launched BEEUP, a honey-powered snack for children, available in Target stories across the United States.
The idea has long been in the running since Beckham found a passion for beekeeping and making honey in lockdown – which his wife Victoria prefers to call ‘David’s Sticky Stuff‘.
Announcing the launch on social media in June, he wrote: ‘I’m so excited that @beeupsnacks is finally here. A real passion project for me and something I’ve been working on behind the scenes for a while.

‘Since building my first hive in 2020 I’ve fallen in love with beekeeping and I’ve learnt so much about the health benefits of honey.
‘As a dad and as a former athlete I wanted to create something for kids to enjoy as part of an active lifestyle so we created BEEUP…..delicious, honey-based snacks.
‘Available now in the US at @target I can’t wait for you to try it’.
Despite his apparent success as a beekeeper, Beckham found himself in hot water in 2024 after neighbours accused him of placing beehives on the boundary of his mansion – in a ‘buzz off’ message to nosey snoopers.
Furious locals feared they would come under attack from swarming insects after the former England captain installed two new hives next to a public footpath.
Neighbours said the positioning of the structures defies public safety advice.
The neighbour, who asked not to be named, said: ‘It’s funny really because they seem to think locals spend their whole time obsessing about what they get up to.

‘We really don’t. We couldn’t care less. It smacks of massive self-importance.
‘The Beckhams are the epitome of the DFLs (Down From London) crowd which has completely taken over this area.
‘The new hives recently appeared more than 330 yards from the family’s home. They are just feet away from a public footpath running along the western reaches of the property.’
According to Allergy UK, there are many species of bees in Britain but only the honeybee commonly stings – and it is usually ‘beekeepers, their family or neighbours who get stung’.
