The Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, New Hampshire, was a hoppin’ joint last night.
Not only was the usual Saturday night hustle and bustle present in the early weekend evening, but a large wedding was in progress. So all that joyful cacophony was added to the happy activity and sounds of the evening rising from the popular and recently renovated venue.
And then, over the noise, guests began to hear POP POP POP.
The panic began.
…Sophie Flabouris, of Lowell, said she heard multiple shots while attending a wedding and hid under a table.
“Pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, and then, ‘Gun, run.’ And people started screaming and running,” Flabouris said.
Flabouris said the wedding guests heard the sound of gunfire from the restaurant in a neighboring space.
“Some people ran out the door. Some people ran into the kitchen. People ran all different directions,” said Flabouris, who said people were screaming.
Terrifyingly, some helpless revelers and diners saw the gunman as he wove his way through the various rooms, into the kitchen and out again, mocking panicked wedding visitors to their faces and shouting vile Intifada gibberish.
…Michael Homewood said he saw the shooter walk across the dance floor and into the kitchen.
“He walked through the kitchen and went up to other guests and flipped them off and said various things and walked right out the back door of the kitchen,” Homewood said.
Another wedding guest, Tom Bartelson, also said the shooter walked through the party and kitchen.
“He said, ‘The children are safe.’ And, ‘Free Palestine,‘” Bartelson said.
As the 911 calls came pouring in and Nashua police flew to the scene, the first word was that two gunmen had attacked the country club, with one managing to escape while the other was in custody. Eventually, after the club’s extensive surveillance system videos were reviewed, it was determined there had only been one shooter, and they did, indeed, have him.
His name is Hunter Nadeau, 23.
One person is dead, and at least two others were injured enough to require treatment.
One man was shot and killed and several others wounded on Saturday night after a gunman opened fire inside the Sky Meadow Country Club.
State Attorney General John M. Formella said in a statement early Sunday that 59-year-old Robert Steven DeCesare was killed and two other adults were injured in the shooting. Hunter Nadeau, 23, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in DeCesare’s death, according to Formella’s statement, which said there was no known connection between the two men.
It was chaos at the club when Nadeau opened up, with a frantic search for loved ones and friends in the aftermath.
…Evie O’Rourke of Salem, New Hampshire, who was at the scene, told The Associated Press she was still trying to find her son, Robert DeCesare of Nashua, in the aftermath of the shooting.
“We don’t know where he is. He went down. My daughter-in-law and granddaughter escaped … They saw my son go down and they saw blood, and we can’t find him,” she said.
She later learned her son had died.
So many innocent people running for their lives who, just seconds before, were ready to watch a young couple’s first dance as man and wife.
…Tom Bartelson of Pepperell, Massachusetts, who was at the country club, described a chaotic scene that unfolded near his nephew’s wedding. He said he heard the shooter say “the children are safe” and “free Palestine” and appeared to be targeting someone.
[We were] “getting together for a dance for the bride and groom and then all chaos went off,” he said. “We heard about six shots and everybody ducked for cover and next thing you know, we’re rushed into safe spots and things like that.”
Some people dropped to the ground and attempted to get away from the scene. There was a lot of panic, he said.
“We were trying to keep family members safe,” he said. “Keep everybody down and try to find safe spots.”
Emily Ernst, who was at the scene, said she saw a gunman in all black.
“He had a mask on. We just saw him raise the gun and then we ran,” Ernst said. “I ran through the kitchen for my life.”

As you might expect, in both this CBS report from this morning and the Massachusetts Attorney General interview within it from last night, there is still ‘no motive’ (quelle surprise) and zero mention of what Nadeau said as he fired his weapon.
What is interesting and new in the report is right at the end – a wedding guest had the presence of mind to bash Nadeau over the head wth a chair!
That’s how they stopped the killing and caught him.
Oh, well done, there!
Again, ‘Free Palestine‘ and ‘The children are safe‘ came from an eyewitness. Video below.
Last night a 23 year old man, Hunter Nadeau, *reportedly* shouted “Free Palestine!” and opened fire on a wedding party at the Sky Meadow Country Club in New Hampshire.

They’re holding Nadeau on initial 2nd-degree murder charges now. There’s an arraignment scheduled for Monday, where they expect that to be upgraded, possibly, and additional charges added to account for the wounded folks and the attack itself.
…Nadeau has been charged with second-degree murder and will face additional charges in connection with the shooting of the other victims, according to the statement.
He is expected to be arraigned Monday in Ninth Circuit Court in Nashua.
There are lots of accusations of gamer, and furry, and transtifa flying around right now, but scarcely a lick of corroborating evidence – no social media posts whatsoever to back any of it up. So I’m not pointing any fingers that way until I see it.
What we do have that’s solid is the testimony of a man who just went through a horrific experience, and I’ll take that for gospel.
It’s bad enough.
Our prayers go out to Mr DeCesare’s family in this awful time and also to the folks who got hurt.
Heal quickly.
