South Park creator SMIRKS while apologizing to Donald Trump over episode that linked president to Jeffrey Epstein and Satan

South Park co-creator Trey Parker smirked as he apologized over an episode that showed President Donald Trump in bed with Satan as they discussed the Jeffrey Epstein files.

‘We’re terribly sorry,’ Parker said with a grin as he appeared alongside show co-creator Matt Stone at a Comedy Central panel on Thursday in San Diego, suggesting the apology was not a sincere one.

Parker made the comment after he was asked whether he anticipated the reaction to the episode, which aired on Tuesday and resulted in a damning statement by the White House.

The premiere episode took aim at South Park’s network Paramount and its recent $16 million settlement with Trump just hours after Parker and Stone signed a five-year $1.5 billion deal with the company.

‘Three days ago I didn’t know if anyone’s going to like this,’ Parker added of the reaction to the episode, saying they were changing details on it until the last minute.

When moderator Josh Horowitz joked that he had a ‘subpoena with him,’ Parker replied: ‘It’s fine, we’re ready.’

Later in the panel, Parker said they did get a note from their producers on Tuesday night’s episode.

‘If we put eyes on the penis, we won’t blur it,’ Parker said. ‘That was a whole conversation with grown-up people for four f***ing days.’

The show creators shared that they were currently working on their next episode and it was ‘super stressful.’

But Parker joked that upcoming episodes would include ‘no politics.’

‘We’re not doing any of that (stuff),’ he said.

It comes after the White House released a scathing statement after the episode’s release.

‘This show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention,’ White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers said in the statement.

‘President Trump has delivered on more promises in just six months than any other president in our country’s history – and no fourth-rate show can derail President Trump’s hot streak.’

The installment touched upon the controversial cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, which critics baselessly allege was axed by the network to appease Trump despite it losing $40 million each year.

One particularly controversial moment in Wednesday’s episode saw Trump trying to romance Satan in bed before they discuss the Epstein list.

The creators also appeared to take aim at Paramount and its $16 million settlement of Trump’s 60 Minutes lawsuit.

In the episode, Trump sues the town of South Park when its residents challenge the presence of Jesus Christ – the actual person – in its elementary school.

Jesus tells them they ought to settle.

South Park returned for the first time in two years Wednesday, just one day after Parker and Stone brokered a $1.5 billion deal with Paramount.

The deal confirms 50 new episodes, which will air on Comedy Central and stream exclusively on Paramount Plus over five years. It also makes Paramount+ the home to the entire catalogue of South Park.

The agreement concludes protracted negotiations between Paramount and the show’s creators – who previously sued incoming Paramount President Jeff Shell – accusing him of interference with rival negotiations involving Warner Bros Discovery and Netflix.

Talks were further complicated by the Skydance leadership, which is in the process of acquiring Paramount, reportedly objecting to earlier proposed terms valued at $3billion over ten years.
