BOXING cult icon Danny Williams was stopped after only the first round during an unlicensed bout.
Williams, 52, is famous for scoring an upset knockout victory over the legendary Mike Tyson back in 2004.
The Brixton Bomber continues to fight despite his advanced age and faced former Commonwealth Cruiserweight Champion Tony Conquest on Sunday in Colchester.
The London bruiser couldn’t put together any significant offence against Conquest, 41, who scored some big punches.
And it was towards the end of the first round when Williams looked dazed after a hard strike in the head.
Conquest didn’t manage to knock his opponent out as the bell rung at the best time for the two-time British Heavyweight Champion.
But once Williams sat on his corner the referee quickly deemed he couldn’t continue.
A number of boxing fans were left in shock at that sight as they stormed social media.
One fan tweeted: “Sad scenes.”
Another commented: “Someone stop this…”
A third wrote: “Unbelievable.”
This fan gasped: “Wow!”
And that one posted: “Oh dear…”
Williams and Tyson, 59, faced off 21 years ago in Kentucky and the Brit KO’d the boxing great in the fourth round.
Dynamite Dan dons a record of 55 wins and 33 losses out of 89 fights from a career that started back in 1995.
