The speculation over who was actually running the country for the better part of the Biden regency has only grown since the former president was forced off the Democratic ticket in July, 2024. Even after Kamala Harris was installed as the nominee for their party in a futile attempt to keep Donald Trump from sweeping back into power, questions about Joe Biden persisted. If he was not up to running for another term, what confidence did we have that he was capable of doing the job for the remaining six months of his current stint in the White House?
The 82-year-old former president has been scarce in public since returning to private life – even more scarce than he was while allegedly working in the Oval Office.
Over the Labor Day weekend, Biden was seen outside of a church in Delaware, and was sporting a very sizeable scar on the right side of his scalp.

Skin cancers on Irishmen as they age are extremely common, and it appears that Biden had to have quite a bit of work done. We obviously pray he recovers and that treatment for his advanced prostate cancer is effective as well.
The scar on Biden’s administration, the autopen scandal, is also spreading. The ongoing revelations that Biden was out of the loop in his own administration to the extent that his signature was affixed to countless official acts by unnamed staff, perhaps without his knowledge, took another turn Thursday in the New York Post in a story by Steven Nelson.
The long and the short of it is that memos from staff in the West Wing indicate that it’s not at all apparent that Biden was consulted on as many as 2,500 clemencies in the final days of his administration.
A handful of email traffic between White House Staff Secretary Stef Feldman, the official keeper of the autopen, Deputy Assistant to the President Rosa Po, Deputy White House Counsel Tyeesha Dixon, White House Counsel chief of staff Michael Posada, White House Counsel Ed Siskel, and associate counsel Jared English indicated a game of hot potato was going on in the final weeks as to what Biden’s intent was with issuing clemencies and how to proceed without being personally burned in the process by acting outside of the President’s direction. The Department of Justice was unsure, the White House Counsel’s office was not much clearer, and the operator of the autopen, Feldman, didn’t want to take the fall without at least someone higher up the ladder affirming to her that Biden had signed off on all this.
Allegedly, Biden had signaled he wanted to commute the sentence of people convicted on crack cocaine charges. Among the 2,500 people eventually receiving the presidentially-shortened sentences were violent criminals like this fellow.
However, there were surprising aberrations in which violent criminals were included in the near-immediate clemency grants — including Russell McIntosh, 51, whose crimes included the 1999 murder of a North Carolina woman who threatened to report him to police and her two-year-old child.
Even as late as January 18th, two days before Donald Trump was inaugurated as the country’s 47th president, internal questions between the White House and the Department of Justice were being asked.
Then-Associate Deputy Attorney General Bradley Weinsheimer wrote to Dixon and Evans on Jan. 18 that he too was concerned about the vague wording of the clemency warrants impacting dozens of more serious cases.
“I think the language ‘offenses described to the Department of Justice’ in the warrant is highly problematic and in order to resolve its meaning appropriately, and consistent with the President’s intent, we will need a statement or direction from the President as to how to interpret the language,” he wrote in an email previously reported by The Post.
The result of that vagueness could be that “[b]ecause no offenses have been described to the Department from the President, the commutations do not take effect… . I have no idea what interpretation the incoming Administration will give to the warrant, but they may find this interpretation attractive.”
He requested “a statement of direction from the President as to the meaning of the warrant language.”
It’s unclear whether the Biden White House aides, who had mostly boxed up their offices by that time, ever replied.
While Nelson’s reporting doesn’t fully get to who was running the country, the flurry of email traffic demonstrates very demonstrably who wasn’t – Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. And that is nothing short of scandalous.
Mind you, I am not so delusional as to believe that anything will come of this. There has never been a case brought to the Supreme Court challenging the pardon power of the presidency due to incapacity. This is uncharted waters, and I’m not sure anyone in Congress or the current White House wants to set sail on that course of action. The scandal should destroy, however, the careers of anyone that was part of the cover-up of Biden’s incapacity, because it perpetrated a fraud on the American people. Any Democrat in that White House or on Capitol Hill that had interactions with the administration and did not come forward with their concerns about Biden’s fitness for office should be a disqualification for public office again.
As for the willing accomplices in media, that goes for them, too. I am overjoyed with the developments at CBS with the buyout of the Free Press and putting Bari Weiss in a senior editorial position. Long may she reign. But there are so many others in media who actively covered up the condition of Biden that should be run out of that town on a rail.
As it turns out, media types seem to be attempting a jujitsu maneuver this past week, whitewashing what they didn’t report on Biden’s condition by instigating a whisper campaign that President Trump was either dead or dying.
Trump was very busy in front of cameras earlier last week, holding three press avails on Tuesday alone. He held a cabinet meeting that went for a little over three-and-a-half hours. He was quiet over the Labor Day holiday, and that’s when the rumors flew. Aaron Blake, senior political reporter for CNN, was part of that nonsense.

I would normally dismiss the delusional ravings of a lunatic and pray she seeks therapy, because A) Joy is not very bright, and B) we all have eyes, ears, and a working brain stem. Peter Doocy brought up the deadpool question on Tuesday when Trump was back in the Oval Office. Trump laughed it off. We saw Joe Biden mentally fading in the 2020 campaign, and the decline accelerated steadily by mid-2024.

39 seconds that ended a presidency. Republicans didn’t have to make anything up. Joe Biden confirmed everything the right had been saying. The funny part about Todd’s attempted Jedi Mind Trick here is that it’s working on exactly no one. The hard left can’t stand Chuck, because they didn’t think he wasn’t biased enough while hosting Meet the Press, and those on the right believed he was in the tank for the Democrats, constantly giving Republican guests the third degree while tossing softballs to Democrats. There’s no one left for him to reach.
I’m just fine with Joe Biden going away, wherever that is, so long as he stays there. I would feel no satisfaction for him to be held accountable for the fraud he was clearly part of, because I’m not convinced he’d be aware of why he’s being punished if justice finally arrives. Those around him who perpetuated the fraud for four-plus years? They should be disgraced from public life forever, and that certainly includes former Vice-President Kamala Harris.
Over the weekend, Trump ended Harris’ Secret Service protection detail. She’d had it for the last eight months. That’s two months longer than average for every retired Vice-President in recent history. Trump was naturally branded a racist by left-wing pundits for essentially doing normal business.
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass was one of those voices who criticized the President’s move. Keep in mind, Mayor Bass, while the anti-ICE riots were plaguing the city, refused to refer to the looting, vandalism, and arson as crime. And certainly, adding police officers, or worse yet, National Guard, would only make matters worse…unless you’re adding a rotation of 14 L.A.P.D. officers to step up patrol on one specific street on which Kamala Harris happens to reside. In this case, she’s more than happy to let L.A.’s finest pick up where the Secret Service left off, at taxpayer expense, of course.

I guess it’s really too much to ask holding Joe Biden accountable for not really running the government for four years. Whether it’s J.B. Pritzker and Brandon Johnson in Illinois, Bass and Gavin Newsom in California, or Kathy Hochul in New York, when Democrats are elected to run things, it’s a crap shoot as to who really is in charge.
