Elton John and David Furnish have picked their sides in the escalating Beckham family feud.
Despite being friends with David and Victoria Beckham for over 30 years, Sir Elton has delivered a bombshell show of support for his godson Brooklyn and wife Nicola Peltz.
On Monday Brooklyn shared a besotted post dedicated to his US actress wife as he marked five years since he proposed, declaring it the ‘best decision ever.’
And whilst there has been no social media likes from his parents, one of the top comments is from his godfather Elton who tagged the pair and wrote ‘Happy Anniversary to the sweetest, most loving couple.’
His husband David had earlier added his own loving message, commenting ‘Happy Anniversary to the gorgeous couple.’
Sir Elton and his husband’s very public show of support will no doubt cause tension in the Beckham family home, considering their long-standing friendship with Brooklyn’s parents.

David affectionately calls the musician ‘Uncle Elton’ after becoming friends in his football heyday.
Sir Elton was due to perform at the Beckhams wedding in 1999 before suffering a heart attack that prevented him from playing. He later sang at one of the children’s christenings.
Meanwhile Victoria once disclosed that it was Elton who inspired her to say goodbye to the Spice Girls, penning an emotional letter to her older self where she confessed that watching her friend perform made her realise that her true calling lay beyond singing.
Victoria and David have recently reached out to their son with social media olive branches, tagging him in Father’s Day posts.
But the family feud has continued to rumble on, with celeb friends now picking sides.
Nicola’s fallout with her husband’s family highlighted an unlikely alliance last week as Yolanda Hadid showed support for Victoria.
The actress, 30, dated Yolanda’s son Anwar for around a year when he was 17 and she was 22 but their age-gap apparently concerned his family.
In a show of support Yolanda, 61, shared a love heart underneath David’s knighthood announcement.

While there is no public history of a relationship between the two matriarchs, it is possible she understands what the family is going through after she suffered her own ‘strained’ relationship with the Bates Motel star during her romance with Anwar.
David told his children ‘I will always be there, no matter what’ in an emotional Father’s Day Instagram post amid their ongoing family fallout.
He shared pictures of Victoria and their four children Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 13, laughing and looking cheery in happier times.
Subtly reaching out to his eldest son, David insisted he will always be around to support Brooklyn even if times get tough.
He wrote: ‘My most important & favourite job in life is being a dad… I’m so proud of all of you and like daddy ( sorry boys ) tells you every single day I will always be here for you no matter what…

Cruz responded to his father on the post, writing: ‘You mean the world to us and inspire us every single day dad I love you’.
Victoria’s Father’s Day tribute to husband David was also filled with nods to their son Brooklyn as she reached out to her eldest child.
Meanwhile, sources have suggested that Nicola ‘very much enjoys’ Brooklyn’s devotion and that this has been a key factor in the feud with his family – which escalated when the couple snubbed David’s 50th birthday celebrations last month.
‘He will do anything Nicola wants,’ one friend said. ‘And that has very much been a thing in the fallout.’
Clips have begun circulating online this week of the couple interacting at red carpet events, with social media users branding Brooklyn an ‘obsessive man’ due to his apparently bizarre behaviour.
One widely-shared clip showed the couple at Victoria Beckham’s show at Paris Fashion Week last year when they were still on speaking terms.
Brooklyn – who has previously admitted that he ‘always’ tries to match Nicola’s outfits because he ‘really likes it’ – wore an almost identical white shirt and bow tie to his wife.

As the couple moved through a crowd arm in arm, Nicola was seen peeling off momentarily to hug another person. Left alone briefly, Brooklyn appeared visibly frightened before grabbing her around the waist and pressing his face into her ear when she returned.
Other clips showed the couple at the Met Gala in 2021 and 2023 when, on both occasions, Brooklyn tried to hide behind her by picking up the train of her luxurious gown.
Another video that picked up traction was a 2023 interview with Cosmopolitan magazine, in which Nicola had to guess things that annoy Brooklyn.
Her first (correct) answer is: ‘When I don’t say I love you back in five seconds?’
Her next telling guess is: ‘When I don’t text you back right away?’ He replies: ‘That’s not one I was thinking of, but that does annoy me.’
