Katrina, 30, kicked her pal in the ribs while Charlotte, 34, punched her 23 times in the head before stamping on her.

The thug sisters then ran away and left the woman unconscious on the ground in Chester.

She only came to when paramedics treated her in the street and only remembers waking up covered in blood with a missing front tooth.

After Katrina was arrested over the attack, she told police: “Oh yeah, I have done that.”

The sisters have now been jailed for a total of two years and eight months after pleading guilty to assault on a person causing actual bodily harm.

The court was told the attack took place on August 3 after a nine-hour drinking session.

CCTV showed Katrina pinning the victim to the ground using her bodyweight as Charlotte delivered 23 blows to the victim’s head.

Prosecutor Peter Hussey said: ”The violence is begun by Katrina who punches her and shoves her backwards and Charlotte joins in by shoving the victim backwards much harder putting her on her backside.

“She throws six or seven punches repeatedly to the head and face with the other hand holding her hair. She then knees her to the face and head putting her back to the ground.

“As [the victim] begins to sit up Katrina Whitham grabs her by the head and shoves her head over. ”

Katrina then attempted to break her friend’s right arm by stamping on it twice before she was knocked unconscious by a kick to the head.

Mr Hussey added: ”Police arrived seven minutes later but it was not until nine and a half minutes after the attack she came round.

“She had pain to the head and face and head, a scalp wound to the back of the head, facial bruising, lost or damaged teeth mainly to the front, injuries to her hands and elbows and a very high heart rate. Luckily there were no fractures sustained.

” She said she could not recall what had happened. She recalled she had been drinking, and recalled it was Katrina’s birthday. She came to whist being attended to by police and paramedics.

“The defendants were tracked by CCTV operators and intercepted by officers. As they were being cautioned Katrina said: ‘Oh yeah we did do that’.

“This was a nocturnal offence involving street violence and they were both drunk.”

During their interviews with officers, Katrina claimed she did not mean to seriously injure the victim.

Her sister answered no comment and refused to watch the shocking CCTV.

The court was told the siblings 29 offences between them – including multiple offences of assault and anti social behaviour.

Sentencing Judge Simon Berkson told the sisters: “You were both drunk and involved yourselves in an assault on someone who had been friends with you.

“She did not deserve to be treated the way you treated her that night.

“You Charlotte, again and again and again and again and again and again and again punched her as hard as you could in the head – then not satisfied with that you also stamped on her head and tried to break her arm with your foot.

“Your behaviour was absolutely appalling. You Katrina were prepared to assist your sister and attempted to kick her in the head as you walked away. The victim was very lucky to suffer only relatively minor injuries.

“In any event you did not care how badly injured or not she was. As far as I can see you wanted to injure her – badly.”
