“It was a very near miss.

“And could have been so much worse.

“We’ve been here eight years and this is the worse car accident we’ve had.

“But there are regular accidents on a small roundabout nearby.

“We’re looking to do an application to the local authority to put up a barricade on our side of the road.

“It is dangerous.”

The crash happened at 2am on January 2 on Hounslow Road, Whitton, London.

The owner of Indian restaurant said that the driver was very lucky.

They confirmed – despite the break-neck speed of the collision – that the restaurant building only sustained minor damage.

But locals were shocked by the blood-curdling smash.

One said: “Jeeze the speed of that car is quite something.

“I’m surprised it wasn’t worse than it was.”

Another said: “Grand Theft Auto has now officially come to Whitton.”

And a third added: “A shame for Jolly’s but thank goodness there wasn’t anyone on the pavement there.

“They would have been killed.”
