RIOT police and football ultra yobs clashed during a heated second-division match in Germany which descended into chaos.
Dynamo Dresden hosted Hertha Berlin on Saturday at the Rudolf Harbig Stadion in a fiery league clash.
The game was marred by violence and referee Sven Jablonski was forced to halt the action in order to temporarily send both sets of players back to the dressing room.
Shocking images and videos did the rounds showing police and rowdy fans clashing.
Cops were also seen chasing unruly supporters off the pitch while flares were being hurled from the stands.
According to DPA International, Hertha fans first breached a barrier and entered the inner area of the stadium, which security staff were unable to prevent.
Around 60 Dynamo supporters were also able to get past the barrier during the match.
That was after flares were set off by both sets of fans in Dresden that evening.
Masked Dynamo supporters then ran along the edge of the pitch towards the Hertha section.
Officers tried to push the home supporters back into their section, while a Berlin flag was being burned.

The authorities managed to restore order and around 600 away fans left the stadium early under police escort as the restarted game came to a close.
Local police issued the following statement: “Operational officers then entered the inner area of the stadium and separated the two groups.
“The pitch was subsequently secured by police. The match had to be halted for about 20 minutes.”
Police opened more than a dozen investigations after the riots that include offences, such as breach of the peace, dangerous bodily harm, criminal damage, insult and ticket fraud
The German Football Federation (DFB) also plans to launch its own preliminary probe into both clubs.
Hertha won the heated encounter with a score of 1-0 despite playing with a man down from the 66th minute.
