THIS is the shocking moment a nightmare neighbour scalded a four-year-old and his grandma with boiling water.
Disturbing footage shows Ina Priestly attacking Sue Varley as she left her home in Morley, West Yorkshire, with her four-year-old grandson on February 6.
Armed with a steaming kettle, she launches boiling water above the child’s head and douses the 68-year-old’s face.
Screams fill the street as Priestly casually walks back to her house.
Sue’s daughter Donna, 35, said the police arrived within 15 minutes to treat her.
Paramedics were concerned the 68-year-old would be at risk of having a heart attack triggered by the horror.
Giant blisters left one of her eyes forced shut, while her scalp and ear were both left scalded.
A winter coat she was wearing at the time thankfully prevented her from sustaining more serious injuries, and a pair of glasses somewhat protected her eyes.
Sue, from Morley, West Yorkshire, said: “I was in a lot of pain and I was crying for my grandson.
“She still did it even though he was sitting on my walker.
“He could have been hurt and how he wasn’t I don’t know. He’s very lucky.
“He’s only four years old and he shouldn’t have seen something like that. I was more worried about him.”
Priestly pleaded guilty to actual bodily harm but was spared jail due to her own health issues.
Sue added: “I’m angry about yesterday [at sentencing]. I’m just baffled at why they’ve let her out.”
And Donna was left “absolutely raging” her mother’s attacker walked free, while Sue will live with the scars forever.
She told how the neighbours had minor disputes over the years but nothing that would have suggested such a violent outburst was to come.
Donna said: “I don’t understand how someone can do that to another human being that can’t even defend themselves.
“When I saw the footage I instantly cried. I can’t listen to it with sound.
“I think the issues started when I was a teenager over little neighbour disputes like fences that you just think are pathetic. They never really got on.
“My mum’s always been advised not to speak to her and report everything she’s doing.
“Nothing triggered this. She said she didn’t know what she’d done wrong and she doesn’t understand why she’s done it.
“When the ambulance came they had to put her head under the shower. They thought she was going to go into shock and cause a heart attack.
“By the time I’d got there she was already in the ambulance and she was shaking. It could have killed her.
“Anyone who knows my mum knows she’s the kindest soul you’ll ever meet. It breaks my heart.
“She’s been having flashbacks and she even needed sleeping pills because everywhere she went she could see Ina with a kettle.”
Donna has set up cameras over fears her mum will be targeted again.
Priestly has been given a two-year community order during which she must complete 25 rehabilitation activity requirement days and has been given a restraining order that stops her from contacting Sue.
Donna continued: “Knowing someone has done that and walked free – I’m absolutely raging.
“My mum’s still got to go around, looking over her shoulder. She’s a paranoid wreck.
“Where’s the justice in this?”
