THIS is the shocking moment a France star appeared to gouge a Scotland rival’s eyes in Saturday’s Six Nations clash.
The vile incident occurred as Scotland stormed to a stunning 50-40 victory over their rugby rivals to blow the tournament wide open.
Gregor Townsend’s men scored seven tries against the Six Nations favourites, who responded with six of their own.
However, France were fortunate to end the game with all their players after an apparent eye-gouging incident.
As both sides competed in a ruck, Oscar Jegou’s hand came over the top of the pile before being raked across the face of Scotland’s Ewan Ashman.
At one point, Jegou’s fingers appeared to dig into Ashmen’s eyes in an apparent gouging attempt.
But amazingly, the France star was not punished by either the referee or TMO.
It saw fans respond angrily on social media as they questioned the decision.
One said: “France should have been down to 14 men after the eye gouge.”
Another declared: “How has the TMO not intervened? That’s the clearest red card you’ll ever see.”

Scotland’s win means they are now level on points with France in the Six Nations table after four games.
However, the French remain top due to having a far greater points difference, boasting 79 to Scotland’s 21.
Their final game sees them host England next weekend, knowing victory will secure the title.
As for Scotland, they travel to Ireland and need to win while also relying on an English victory to secure Six Nations glory for the first time ever – with their last triumph coming in 1999 when it was the Five Nations.
