The Owls’ administrators are hopeful the club will be sold in time for the January transfer market.

And the second tier crisis side, who received a 12-point deduction and are on minus five points after 13 games, might be able to bring in new recruits when the window reopens.

Loans and free transfer signings would be the only avenues to explore with fees banned, but it could serve as a crucial way to bolster Henrik Pedersen’s men.

Talented wideman Goodrham has been Oxford‘s top goal and assist provider over the last two seasons.

He had ten goals and assists in the Championship last season but he has fallen out of favour with manager Gary  Rowett this term.

Rowett said Goodrham has been “unfortunate” not to play more than his five matches in all competitions this season.

He has not made a single appearance for the U’s since the end of August so a loan move looks on the cards.

Former Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has been linked with a takoever of the Owls.

The businessman, worth an estimated £3.25bn, is one of several bidders reportedly eyeing up a move for the Yorkshire giants.

Another of the bidders is American billionaire John McEvoy, who holds stakes with Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League and also Baseball’s Colorado Rockies.

There is also reported interest from another American group, as well as at least one British group.
