A SEX attack migrant will be deported in a matter of days after being mistakenly freed from jail sparking a frantic manhunt.
Hadush Kebatu will be put on a plane out of the country this week after he was dramatically recaptured following his accidental release from prison.
The migrant sex offender was jailed last month and had only been in prison for four weeks before a monumental blunder saw him released back onto the streets on Friday.
He was released on the expectation he would be picked up by immigration enforcement for deportation – due on a flight “within days.”
It sparked a frantic manhunt which ended when he was put in cuffs in Finsbury Park in North London this morning.
Now, the government has revealed that they plan to deport Kebatu on Tuesday this week.
David Lammy, the deputy PM, said the debacle was “totally unacceptable” when visiting Wood Green Police Station to thank officers for finally snaring him.
When quizzed why Kebatu wasn’t being deported sooner, Lammy said Kebatu needs to be questioned by police before he is deported “to get to the bottom of what’s happened over those 48 hours”.
He went on to “assure” of Kebatu’s deportation and said: “It is right that he is questioned by the police following his route from Essex to London.”
Kebatu was jailed for 12 months for sexually assaulting a woman and a 14-year-old girl near The Bell Hotel in Epping, Essex, in July.
The dad of the girl he assaulted said he feared he would target more kids while free.
In a statement released on Saturday evening he said Kebatu’s mistaken release had caused his 14-year-old victim “so much stress and anxiety” and blasted the error as “unbelievably irresponsible”.
He went on to slam the prison and said when he sought answers from HMP Chelmsford, he was met with “hostility” and “complete disregard”.
Kebatu was meant to be sent to an immigration detention centre to be deported but instead was accidentally freed from prison on Friday.
Footage later showed him on Saturday strolling inside a library in Dalston, East London, at around 6pm the day of his release.
He was later seen “trying to get a free night’s stay” at the nearby Premier Inn, The Sun revealed today.
The wrongly-freed inmate was wearing his prison-issue grey tracksuit top and bottoms in the most recent images of him.
A prison officer was suspended when it was discovered Kebatu had been mistakenly let out of the prison where he was supposed to be serving a 12-month sentence.
It was also revealed prison staff directed the migrant sex offender towards the station to help him get the train after being freed, according to a witness.
Kebatu was seen sauntering along a busy high street just moments away from a police station shortly after he was let out of HMP Chelmsford in Essex.
The Metropolitan police took over in the hunt for Kebatu late on Saturday morning.
The crew tasked with discharging prisoners are understood to have been taken off duty while an investigation is underway.
Cops confirmed he was spotted boarding a London bound train from Chelmsford Station at 12.41pm yesterday afternoon, following his high street stroll.
He was then reported to have gotten off at Stratford station.
Cops released shocking CCTV footage emerged of Kebatu on Saturday strolling around East London as the manhunt became increasingly desperate.
But he was finally caught on Saturday morning with exclusive Sun pictures showing the exact moment Kebatu was arrested by three plain-clothed officers and led to a police van.
The 41-year-old Ethiopian was held near a bus stop in Finsbury park, North London, at 8.35am.
It is understood he was recognised by someone on a bus who then alerted police carrying a major manhunt for Kebatu.
Once Kebatu’s identity was confirmed, he was arrested for being unlawfully at large.
Following his re-arrest, some protestors congregated outside the hotel on Saturday evening.
Kebatu’s initial arrest in July had sparked nationwide protests outside migrant hotels.
