But rather than stack her kitchen gadget with knives and forks, she began by putting in her plastic hairbrushes.
Before doing so, Ida stressed the importance of removing the hair first.
After this, Ida explained that she also puts silicone phone cases and Scrub Daddy sponges in the dishwasher to get them sparkling.
Not only this, but she also adds in her electric cleaning brush attachments, as well as her Stanley cups and large tumblers.
But that’s not all, as well as putting the filter from her range hood in her dishwasher, she also uses the gadget to get a kitchen essential looking brand new.
Rather than wasting time removing stubborn stains from her microwave glass plate, she adds it into the bottom of her dishwasher and it doesn’t take long to get it sparkling.
Alongside her video, Ida advised: “Make sure that the items you put are dishwasher safe and choose a cycle with 55–65°C (130–150°F) temperature.”
She also recommended: “Some items might need pre soaking first.”
Big divide
Ida’s TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @cleaningwithida, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly gone viral and racked up 1.1 million views.

Underneath and Behind Appliances: Vacuum or sweep regularly. Mop with a suitable cleaner.
Shower Curtains and Liners: Wash in the washing machine. Use a bleach solution for stubborn mildew.
Kitchen Sponges and Dishcloths: Microwave damp sponges for one minute. Wash dishcloths in the washing machine.

A third commented: “Why have I never thought of the hairbrush or microwave glass plate?”
Meanwhile, someone else penned: “As well as shoes! Honestly super helpful as regular washers are loud and don’t clean all the way… but I always use the dishwasher (ofc the shoes by themselves) and then let them air dry!”
However, not everyone was as convinced by Ida’s dishwasher advice.
One user claimed: “This I will never do.”
Make sure to choose a cycle with 55-65°C temperature

A second user slammed: “But at the same time?.. Nope.”
Whilst another person asked: “Wouldn’t the brushes and phone cases melt?”
To this, Ida wrote back and penned: “It could be possible if you run a cycle that’s too hot, I’ve never had that issue myself.
“I wrote all the details in the caption, but make sure to choose a cycle with 55-65°C temperature.”
