Atmosphere in Belgrade
The 51,755-seater Rajko Mitic Stadium is famed for being one of the most hostile in Europe.
A fearsome cauldron when Serbia giants Red Star play their home matches there and it is no different for the national team.
Expect flairs, fireworks and a wall of noise from the ultras section.
Around 2,500 England fans have made the journey to Belgrade tonight and there are warnings in place over their safety, telling them to stick to tourist areas.
The Serbian ultras have a reputation for being racist and many are linked to far-right groups.
There were mass brawls involving hooligans and police on the streets of Germany when they faced England in the opener of Euro 2024.
But on the pitch, boss Thomas Tuchel is adamant it won’t bother his players, saying: “The spectators will be emotional. They will be loud but the stands are quite a distance from the stands and we will cope.
“Our young players will not be afraid. They are not afraid of anything.”
‘Serbia are a really good team’
Ahead of the match tonight, England skipper Harry Kane said: “I feel like this is probably our biggest test under his management.
“We’ve had a lot of games where we played against low blocks, where we’ve got a lot of possession and almost been playing against ourselves.
“The teams we’re playing against have been almost happy to lose 1-0 or 2-0 and not cause us too much threat, whereas this is going to be completely different.
“Serbia are a really good team so it’s a really good test, hopefully we can show the best version of us.
“But ultimately it’s about winning. If we win we’re really close to securing qualification, if we don’t, it makes the next camp a lot trickier.
“They’re a very physical team. Their centre-backs are big and strong. Their strikers like to have aerial duels.
“They like to play off second balls. They like to be physical.”
Lewis-Skelly left out
Myles Lewis-Skelly has been axed from the England squad for tonight’s match.
The Arsenal left-back started in the 2-0 win over Andorra on Saturday evening.
Thomas Tuchel can only name a 23-man squad for the trip to Serbia, meaning one of his 24 players had to head home.
And teenage sensation Lewis-Skelly, 18, is the man chosen.
The call was both tactical and to manage his workload, with the Andorra game his first full 90 minutes of the season.
SunSport understands that Tino Livramento will feature at left-back.
We will bring you the team news when it drops.
