Self-proclaimed ‘benefits queen’ reveals she gets paid to watch TV – and claims people who work are DUMB

A TikTok creator described as a ‘self-proclaimed benefits queen’ has angered social media users after insulting people who have jobs.

Ebony Wood has some 14,500 followers on the video platform, where she often makes content about the benefits she receives as a result of not working.

In one clip, the 26-year-old provoked fury from some viewers after describing people who earn their income via employment as ‘dumb’.

Speaking in the video, she said: ‘Hey, listen, I deserve benefits full stop, fam. 

‘I didn’t ask to be born […] so why should I work […] when I get double sat on my bum watching Loose Women. 

‘That’s why, respectfully, if you work, you’re dumb.’

She then revealed that around 100 people have reported her to the Department of Work and Pensions, and she described herself as ‘officially the UK’s top villain’.

Viewers took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the video, with many expressing annoyance.

One furious viewer said: ‘You should be ashamed of yourself you don’t deserve any benefit whatsoever.’

An even angrier commentator wrote: ‘What a disgusting, arrogant, waste of oxygen.’ 

‘Who pays for you car, us, your home, us, your nails, food, hair, is the tax payer. Why are the likes you you not working. Reason lazy scrounger,’ another added. 

Meanwhile, some viewers threatened the content creator, with one saying: ‘We’re all going to report you every week stop your benefits.

‘Enjoy it while it lasts hun,’ added another.

However, not everyone who watched the video was angered by it.

In a similar vein, a further TikTok user added: ‘Everyone’s humour is dry! Girls hilarious.’

One appeared to feel that many viewers had missed the point of the video, suggesting: ‘It’s a wind up.’

However, one wasn’t completely sure, writing: ‘Please tell me that this is satire.’
