A MOTHER has shared shocking photos from a house fire that killed two of her pets.
Nimah Cowie, a mum-of-two boys, aged seven and three, explained that the tragic event took the lives of her beloved kitten and sweet hamster.

Not only this, as well almost all of her belongings being ruined, Nimah’s whole house is now in need of cleaning, redecorating and rewiring.
Nimah confirmed that the fire started when she and her children were out of the house, after she had forgotten to blow out a candle.
Now eager to stop this from happening to anyone else, Nimah took to social media to share her stern warning.
Alongside images of the fire’s destruction, the content creator wrote: “This is your sign to blow out those tealights and candles.”

Following this, she requested: “Please never forget to blow out your candles or tealights like I did. A mistake I’ll never ever get over.”
Nimah recognised that leaving a candle alight was the “worst mistake of my life.”
As well as this, she sobbed: “Honestly it is the worst thing ever.”
Nimah’s home has since been covered in soot, with the walls in her pad now entirely black and paint peeling from the ceilings.
Her son’s bunk beds had also turned grey from the smoke, while her bathroom and bedroom were in desperate need of deep cleaning.
As well as losing “almost everything,” Nimah shared: “We lost our kitten and hamster, but thankfully we are all fine otherwise.”
Since sharing her heartbreaking story online, Nimah’s father Rob has created a GoFundMe page, in a bid to raise funds to go towards the renovation of Nimah’s property.

Social media users were stunned by the fire damage and raced to the comments to express their sympathy for Nimah and her family.
The 8 fire safety checks you should do in your home every night
TO avoid a devastating fire in your home, there are some checks you should be conducting every night, according to Gov.uk.
- Close inside doors at night to stop a fire from spreading
- Turn off and unplug electrical appliances unless they are designed to be left on – like your freezer.
- Check your cooker is turned off
- Don’t run appliances such as washing machines, tumble dryers and dishwashers overnight
- Turn heaters off and put up fireguards
- Put candles and cigarettes out properly
- Make sure exits are kept clear
- Keep door and window keys where everyone can find them
One person said: “Sorry to hear this, must be heartbreaking, may I just ask were you out of the house at the time or what did it catch fire onto?”
To this, Nimah replied and confirmed: “I was out at the time, yeah, my neighbour spotted the smoke and heard the alarms and called 999.”

At the same time, one woman penned: “I’m so sorry this happened to you. Thank you for finding it in you to remind me, I won’t take it lightly.”
In response, Nimah wrote: “If it stops this happening to one other person then that alone has made a difference. I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy.”
