NOTTINGHAM FOREST have confirmed the appointment of Sean Dyche as their new manager, just days after sacking Ange Postecoglou.
Owner Evangelos Marinakis swung the axe on Postecoglou just 19 minutes after Forest’s 3-0 defeat at home to Chelsea.
It was Postecoglou’s eighth game without a win since arriving at the City Ground in September and Marinakis decided he had seen enough.
Forest have suffered a turbulent season after Nuno Espirito Santo was also given his marching orders just three games into the season.
And now the club are on their third manager of the campaign after bringing in ex-Everton and Burnley coach Dyche.
Dyche, who has signed a long-term contract with Forest, has a reputation for helping teams escape the drop with his direct and physical style of play.
The 54-year-old started his coaching career at Watford before spending ten years with Burnley, winning promotion to the top flight on a small budget in 2013-14.
He eventually turned the Clarets into a Premier League mainstay despite initially suffering an immediate relegation as they won the 2015-16 Championship title.
Burnley would stay in the top flight for another five seasons and even qualified for the Europa League in 2017-18.
After being sacked in 2021-22, he joined Everton in January 2023, keeping them in the Premier League after a disastrous campaign under Frank Lampard.

But he struggled to turn Everton in a top-half side as they finished 15th the following season before being axed in January this year.
Dyche emerged as the favourite for the Forest gig after the club eyed a manager whose style was a better fit for the squad.
Postecoglou’s high line and high press was a far cry from what Forest players were previously used to under Nuno Espirito Santo.
The Portuguese boss played a low block and counter-attack which was crucial in earning them European football last season.
Forest had also spoken with ex-Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini and also admired Fulham‘s Marco Silva.
But Dyche was seen as the ideal candidate for the style of football they wanted to play, while also pulling the team out of their slump.
Forest have not won a game since a 3-1 win over Brentford on the opening day of the season.
They currently sit in the relegation zone in 18th place after one win, two draws and five defeats.
