RUBY Wax has touched down in Australia ahead of her appearance on I’m A Celebrity – and she can’t wait to get under the skin of her campmates.
The legendary comedian turned psychotherapist is one of the big name signings for this year’s series of the Ant and Dec fronted ITV show.

Arriving in Brisbane, she told The Sun: “Meeting everybody, that’s what I’m excited about.”
Though Ruby did admit she’d miss her cats, and was worried about whether people would like her.
She added: “I’ve been on desert islands before, I did another show where I had to live alone for ten days so this is nothing.
“The people are what’s exciting to pick them apart and find out what makes them so interesting – or not.”
The Sun revealed earlier today how Ruby has a huge advantage for the show – after previously being stranded on a deserted island for ten days for another show.
The quick-witted contestant, 72, is already speculated to become a finalist, thanks to her past experience acting in jungle-esque environments and even stranded locations.
During her TV show Ruby Wax: Cast Away, Ruby was “stranded” off of the coast of a remote island in Madagascar.
She spent ten days castaway there on her own, and the programme was shot in a documentary style where she recorded her own journey using a camera.

While that experiment was very much planned out, and what’s to come on I’m A Celeb remains more unknown to the star, it still puts her a foot ahead in terms of understanding the mentality of what to expect from the programme.
Her experience on TV involved real survival challenges like finding food and water, dealing with difficult weather, and being completely isolated.
But if these rationales didn’t seem like enough to back up Ruby’s potential, she’s also trained as a qualified psychotherapist, and holds a Master’s degree in Mindfulness-Based cognitive behavioural therapy from Oxford University.
So if anyone has the mental strength it has to be her.
Earlier today Emmerdale star Lisa Riley, rapper Aitch and streamer Angryginge arrived in Brisbane ahead of the show’s launch this weekend.
