HE was on the brink of setting a chart record for the most UK No1 albums by any artist in history.
But Robbie Williams now has a wait on his hands for that to happen, after he postponed his new record’s release date to avoid clashing with Taylor Swift.
The Rock DJ singer had been due to drop his album Britpop on October 10, just a week after superstar Taylor’s The Life Of A Showgirl, but he has now pushed it back by four months to ensure she doesn’t pip him to the post.
He originally announced the release date months ago but had a change of heart after Tay announced her date last month.
This week, those who have preordered Robbie’s album received an email which said: “Due to scheduling changes, Britpop will now be released on February 6, 2026.”
But I can see why Rob isn’t taking any risks, because if he can go to No1 with the record, he will overtake The Beatles, who he is currently tied with, as the artist with the most chart-topping UK albums.

My source explained: “Robbie will go down in the history books if he scores another No1 he’s not taking any chances.
“Taylor is undoubtedly the biggest artist in the world right now and her first-week sales are sure to eclipse any other artist who has released a record in recent years.
“The sales will still be massive in the second week, so Robbie and his team decided it’s better to just move the release date.
“The new date in February has actually opened up loads more exciting opportunities, so there will be a lot happening in the New Year.”
Despite the delay, an intimate gig at Dingwalls in Camden, North London, for those who have preordered Robbie’s album, will still go ahead on October 9.
Meanwhile, yesterday it was announced that Taylor will make an appearance on The Graham Norton Show on her release day, October 3, which is sure to help boost her sales even more.
At least this gives us something to look forward to in the bleak early weeks of 2026.
LOVING DEM SHADES
DESPITE being in a nightclub, Demi Lovato kept her shades on as she celebrated her album reveal.
She wore a cleavage-flashing leotard at a party in New York ahead of the release of It’s Not That Deep on October 24.
And she says the record is bursting with fun after she got married to musician Jordan “Jutes” Lutes in May.
Demi said: “With my past eras, I often wrote cathartic music about heavy topics that I needed to process.
“When I got back in the studio this time, those songs just weren’t resonating any more because I’m not in that place in life.
“I’m happy, I’m in love, and I just want to enjoy life and have fun.”
IT’S BABY No.4 FOR CARDI
CARDI B is wasting no time taking things to the next level with her new boyfriend, as she has just announced she’s expecting their first baby together.
The rapper, below, only confirmed she was dating American football player Stefon Diggs earlier this year but she’s now revealed that she is pregnant with her fourth child, having previously had three kids with her rapper ex-husband Offset.
She said: “I’ve been putting in all this work, but I’m doing all this work while I’m creating a baby.
“I’m happy. I feel like I’m in a good space.”
The news comes ahead of the release tomorrow of her album Am I The Drama? featuring collaborations with Janet Jackson, Tyla and Megan Thee Stallion.
WE’RE HERE FOR IT, MIMI
MARIAH CAREY’s 16th album Here For It All finally drops next week, along with a big-budget video for next single, Play This Song.
Insiders have told us that Mariah has teamed up with producer Anderson Paak for the tune.
A source explained: “The video is already shot and as you would expect, it’s high budget.
“Mariah looks incredible and the track is really fun.
“It’s got a funky R&B vibe to it.
“The video is out on the same day as the album – September 26.”
While we will definitely be buying the record, Mariah, won’t be counting on the same support from her twins, Monroe and Moroccan.
Speaking last month, the singer admitted the teenagers prefer Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo to her own music.
Can’t win ’em all, Mimi.
BUSTED SMASH IT FOR JAMES
BUSTED and McFly put on a united front as they kicked off their huge joint tour without James Bourne.
The Busted rocker was forced to pull out due to illness, with his younger brother Chris stepping in to replace him.
Bandmates Matt Willis and Charlie Simpson welcomed Chris to the stage on the first night in Birmingham on Tuesday and opened up about James’s absence.
Matt said: “You may have noticed our best friend is not here tonight. James is really f***ing sick and we love him and miss him.
“This is the first show we’ve ever played without him and it’s really weird but we’re going to do the best we can. This happened really fast. Health is wealth.”
Despite not having James with them, Chris helped Busted nail their ten-song set, while McFly’s Danny Jones, Tom Fletcher, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd opened with 12 hits of their own.
We’re wishing James a speedy recovery and are sending him all our best.
