DARTS star Ricky Evans has hailed his girlfriend as his “new best friend” following the tragic death of his sister.
Evans revealed his new partner is his first for ten years.

He is joyous at getting to experience the ups and downs of darts alongside someone who is there to support him.
Evans told Oche180: “I’ve lost one best friend and I’ve got another one now.
“It’s lovely to have. She’s there for the highs and lows – there’s been a lot more highs this last year, in darts anyway.
“I’ve got something to play for now. I’m never going to live at home with mum and & dad. I can move out and start a life with her.
“Everything is good at the minute. I’ve waited a decade to have a girlfriend so I might as well make the most of it.”
Evans, 35, lost his sister Elisha in March last year.
He shared several photos of Elisha on social media following her death, alongside the caption: “My beautiful little sister Elisha… I love you so much. I’ll always be your best friend.”
Fellow player Ross Smith paid tribute, saying: “Very sorry to hear this awful news. Sending love to Ricky and his family.”

Evans also admitted he needs to “grow up” after his on-stage antics came under fire.
Sky Sports pundit Wayne Mardle labelled Rapid’s behaviour as “unprofessional” following his 4-2 defeat to Charlie Manby in the third round of the World Championship.
Evans said: “I’ve got one of those personalities where it just looks like I’m not trying in a way.
“But when they’re going, like I said, I did it at the Grand Slam and I won the game. So it does work.
“I just have to grow up. Just learn how to lose with dignity.
“But that’s life. Hopefully we can get that sorted this year and we can get the happy Ricky and smiley again.
“I did get a bit of hate online and probably so in a way.”
