Raging Trump axes support for long-term ally Marjorie Taylor Greene in Epstein files feud branding her ‘lunatic’

PRESIDENT Trump has cut off his long-term ally Marjorie Taylor Greene over her “wacky” demands to release all the Epstein files.

He branded the Georgia Rep. a “lunatic” and officially withdrew his support for her – apparently after a text willing him to publish the documents.

Trump fumed on Truth Social: “I am withdrawing my support and Endorsement of ‘Congresswoman’ Marjorie Taylor Greene, of the Great State of Georgia.

“[A]ll I see ‘Wacky’ Marjorie do is COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN!”

Greene – once a staunch ally of Trump – has split with the President on a number of issues in recent weeks, such as the Affordable Care Act.

She posted a screenshot of a text message to Trump which she said was the cause of the public dressing down.

TRAGIC END

It reads: “For many of us releasing the Epstein files has always been for the women who were victims of Jeffrey Epstein, but also because we believed that Democrat bad guys like the Clintons were entangled and involved with him.”

Greene seethed that Trump had “attacked” and “lied about” her, by claiming she had been making unanswered calls.

Trump implied that Greene’s loyalty began to waiver when he suggested she would not be fit for higher office.

He wrote: “It seemed to all begin when I sent her a Poll stating that she should not run for Senator, or Governor, she was at 12%, and didn’t have a chance (unless, of course, she had my Endorsement — which she wasn’t about to get!).”

The President suggested she was bitter about his failure to return her calls.

He continued: “She has told many people that she is upset that I don’t return her phone calls anymore, but with 219 Congressmen/women, 53 U.S. Senators, 24 Cabinet Members, almost 200 Countries, and an otherwise normal life to lead, I can’t take a ranting Lunatic’s call every day.”

His post also signalled his eagerness to endorse another, more loyal Republican to primary Greene.

“I understand that wonderful, Conservative people are thinking about primarying Marjorie in her District of Georgia, that they too are fed up with her and her antics and, if the right person runs, they will have my Complete and Unyielding Support,” he wrote.

Greene is one of just four Republican reps to have signed a discharge petition which forced a vote to be scheduled over whether to mandate the release of all the files.

The bid got its 218th signature on Wednesday – tipping the majority.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson announced hours later that the vote – on whether to force the Justice Department’s hand – would be held next week.

Under the rules, Johnson could have waited until early December to stage the vote but decided to hustle it through.

A mass defection of Republican lawmakers is expected in the vote – perhaps over 100 of the House’s 219 – meaning the motion is likely to pass.

However, it would then face an uphill battle through the Republican-run Senate, and is unlikely to become law.

Trump has repeatedly labelled the push to release Epstein files a “hoax” – though he said on Friday he would investigate the paedo financier’s links with “Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Reid Hoffman, J.P. Morgan, Chase, and many other people and institutions”.

Explaining her conviction the files should be released, Greene wrote: “Epstein was the spider that wove the web of the deep state. Lean into it!”

She also accused Trump of making her “an example to scare all the other Republicans before next weeks vote” on the discharge petition.

She added: “It’s astonishing really how hard he’s fighting to stop the Epstein files from coming out that he actually goes to this level.
