My hair turned crispy

When I was about 12, I was desperate for curly hair. My mum is a hairdresser, so I begged her to give me a spiral perm. I used to put two cans of spray gel in it and blast it with a diffuser. Nowadays I use the Aveda Nutriplenish range (from £30, aveda.co.uk). The products smell like a spa and have great ingredients.

I shaved my face
When I was younger, I was experimental – butchering my eyebrows, shaving my face with my dad’s razor, cutting my own hair! My brows are good now, but they’ve been on a journey. I used Sweed The Brow Serum (£42, sweedbeauty.com), which helps regrow them.
Kids sabotage my self-care
It’s hard to fit everything in with the children [Minnie, ten, and Amelie, 13], but I make time for a pamper session once a week. It always involves a hair mask. The Chris Appleton + Color Wow Money Masque (£39.50, spacenk.com) gives my hair a hit of moisture. I put a turban on then sleep in it. I’ll often use Summer Fridays Jet Lag Eye Patches (£25, spacenk.com) and soak with Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille Exfoliating Body Wash (£39, boots.co.uk). I had my bathroom done recently and it’s my oasis of calm. I’ve got my plants in there and my candles – I love Diptyque Baies (from £37, diptyqueparis.com). Those little luxuries make me feel good.
My make-up is a high-low mix
When I want to feel glowy, my starting point is La Roche-Posay Anthelios Uvmune 400 Invisible Tinted Fluid SPF 50+ (£21, laroche-posay.co.uk). Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Skin Sheer Glow Tint Hydrating Foundation Stick (£35, charlottetilbury.com) gives a nice light coverage. Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Concealer (£36, spacenk.com) and Merit Beauty Flush Balm (£26,meritbeauty.com) are great, too. I use Charlotte Tilbury The Feline Flick eyeliner in Super Brown (£25) and for lip balm I always go back to Blistex Relief Cream (£3.99, boots.com).
My skincare is by committee
I’ve got a WhatsApp group of industry mum mates and we’re always swapping tips and tricks. I’ve told them about Eucerin Hyaluron-Filler Epigenetic Serum (£49, boots.com), which evens out my skin tone. And Medik8 Lipid-Balance Cleansing Oil (£29, spacenk.com) – it melts my make-up off so easily.
My glow secret is simple
I love using tanning drops at night. You wake up with that extra bit of bronze. My favourite is Coco & Eve Sunny Honey Bronzing Face Drops (£22, spacenk.com). I use them every few days.
Fad diets? I did a few…
Back in the S Club 7 days, there was never time to plan a nutritious meal. Grab-and-go was the norm and jacket potatoes with grated cheese were a staple. There were so many diets. I did some of them but they don’t work. Now I like the idea of ‘habit stacking’: starting with one thing, like drinking two litres of water a day, then adding on another good habit. I’ve been trying to make sure I take a magnesium supplement consistently. And I love smoothies – they’re a great way to get my vitamins and antioxidants.
I’m over HIIT
Lately I’ve been veering away from high-intensity training. I’ve worked out I need to go more low impact, so I’m trying to incorporate strength workouts. I love Melissa Wood Health. She has an app that offers lots of different things, from meditation to a ten-minute workout. I go to a corner in my house where I keep a mat and training equipment and try to do a session every morning.
